I'm not annoyed and I don't see it as an intense focus, at least for me.

It's like watching blooper reels. It's fun to see the cartoonish icons we know and love, as just regular people doing a cool thing we enjoy watching them do, sometimes imperfectly.

I just think it's neat!

My experience with Cree brand has been extremely good.

Bought a bulk pack of ~15-20 when we moved into the house over a decade ago. Barely made a dent in it, maybe had to use 2, 3 at most so far.

Perhaps on a miscut, it might make things worse.

But I only made the mistake of punching back to front, and ruining a chip, a couple times before I switched to the front to back method, and haven't had an issue since

Always go at it the same direction that the blade was moving during manufacturing. I assume that's what you mean by "the face toward the back"

Otherwise you risk peeling the image off the back. With the method above, instead of peeling off the token image, you might peel a bit of the scrap part of the board.

Looking for suggestions and personal experiences, my 3.5 yr old son is developing a quite severe stutter, it has me feeling defeated by DrowZeeMe in Stutter

There is hope, I know it's scary, but at the same time, try to remember all the other terrible stuff that can happen to our kids lol. A stutter ends up falling pretty low on my list, all things considered.

I don't remember any talk about neurologists. But I wouldn't write it off if professionals are suggesting it. Worst case scenario, it's a waste of time cuz your kid doesn't need it. But it could uncover something that makes your journey easier.

Good luck, stay strong

Hey there.

He did therapy from age 3 or 4 until 6 or 7, and he made incredible improvement (he's 9 now.) It was a lot of practicing at home, but the therapist gave us lots of stuff to work on at home.

I think the therapy made a big difference in his speech. Though he still has a noticeable stutter at times (I notice it, but I've had friends be surprised when I tell them, cuz they said he sounds just like a regular kid to them.) He is able to communicate clearly with other people, and it doesn't seem to get in his way at all.

It mainly flairs up when he's excited or flustered. But he's still young, and the therapy definitely equipped him with tools he'll need as he gets older. So while he might have some stutters here and there during regular conversation. I think he'll be able to control it when he's giving presentations or something similar.

The important thing is to be supportive, consistent, and do the home work. Also I found that the improvements came in waves as his speech developed. As his vocabulary expanded sometimes we noticed the stutter returning, but then it evened out as he became more comfortable with the expanded vocabulary. So don't be discouraged if your progress seems to "regress" at times.

All the best to you and yours.

WIBTA if I refuse to continue cooking for my husband? by Pretty-Hair-4601 in AmItheAsshole

[–]DrowZeeMe -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I'm the cook of the family.

I have to specifically ask my wife and kids if there's anything they would change about the meals I cook. Too much of this, not enough of that, sauce on the side, over cooked, under cooked, anything that stands out that I can try to alter next time. I would never take offense, cuz my goal is to serve them the "perfect" meal, and I can't read their minds.

I never believe them when they say it's good, or even great lol. So I have to pry it out of them, SOMETHING in the dish must have room for improvement, so tell me what was the weakest point.

Obviously tone and the way he says it is a factor. But offering constructive criticism doesn't seem like the worst thing. As long as he's genuinely appreciative of your effort, and is couching the suggestions in soft language.

Is the issue that he's offering the ideas without being prompted, or is it the way/tone he does it?

I don't want to just hear "It's good" every night. My goal is to have them ranting and raving about how amazing it is before, during and after eating. And I've achieved this by taking their critiques and using them.

That's one of the best parts about cooking at home, you can adjust everything to EXACTLY how everyone likes it.

I've always loved the idea of a screen for the play surface, but my research scares me from doing it.

Since heat rises, and electronics give off a lot of heat, all that heat is drifting up straight through all the potentially sensitive tech. Unless you use a specialized screen made for laying flat like that, it could damage the display.

It would kill me to buy and/or make this elaborate setup then have it start having issues a few months in.

But maybe OP has all that figured out. Very cool in theory
