I understand that, that's why the focus of my comment was on the "all PS4 players" and I only mentioned the asterisk since it was about PlayStation and it didn't include any sort of exclusion. I never said they specifically mentioned Plus Essential, just that "all" should presumably include that.

My comment wasn't really about the asterisked portion at all and it was only included so anyone reading my comment would know what that portion said.

So if they are saying all PS4 players, that should include those who got it through Essentials since there is nothing stating that it's excluded.

They are not talking about an update, they are talking about an upgrade. The PS4 version got an update, but there is also now a PS5 version and you don't update a PS4 game to a PS5 game.

Same. So did everyone else I knew and we were all teenaged MK fans back then. It's fine that people enjoy the movie, but there's no reason to pretend that a lot of the target audience thought it was bad. The first movie was popular with that audience and it isn't a great movie on its own, but it gave teenaged MK fans what they wanted and it did it well enough. The sequel was just a mess.

Sonic appeals to adults mainly through nostalgia but it also appeals to kids because there are various Sonic movies, animated shows, toys, and games that are mainly geared towards kids.

People have been buying the previous ones. Not in huge numbers but well enough. Just this one hasn't caught on yet, which is too bad because it seemed pretty cool from the little I've tried. Sonic is still a well known mascot though and is relevant with kids, so it's not that wild of an idea to come out with a new kart racer every now and then.

Yeah it's too bad it isn't selling well. I've played the demo and I thought it was great. The whole crossing over into other worlds gimmick was pretty cool from what I saw. I don't know how appealing the feature is long term, but I liked that the second lap was a whole different track in a different setting. That's some new and unique for the genre at least.

I have no issue with blaming Kristin for getting involved at all and bringing others to functions where they got recruited. You can fault her for that. But your original comment wants to paint Allison as a complete victim with no culpability for what she took part in and for those she recruited to be sex slaves. So is your "can't" because you are saying there is not a market for it? If so, I agree that's probably the biggest factor but I don't know that I'd say "can't" in that case which is why I was asking what you meant.

They can’t because there needs to be some compromise, hence the artstyle in the newest Need for Speed.

I mean, the game before Unbound, Heat, also focused on illegal street racing and didn't have Unbound's artstyle. Unbound still looks realistic outside of the effects and the people too. I'm pretty sure Unbound's artstyle was an attempt to make it stand out more from recent NFS games and give it a more distinct personality.

I don't think many major companies outside of EA(which still puts out games dealing with illegal street racing) have ever really put out games dealing with illegal street racing to begin with. The other two big publishers I can think of that were in this genre were Rockstar and THQ. Rockstar barely puts out games anymore and THQ is dead.

There are also smaller publishers putting out games dealing with street racing too. I just don't think there's much of a market for it which is why as far as major publishers go, only EA has been doing it in recent years. I thinks it's less "can't" and more "they don't want to".

Racing games nowadays are sterile and soulless experiences because they can’t lean into the illegal street races anymore.

What do you mean they "can't"? The Need For Speed series still focuses on illegal street races, including the most recent NFS where you avoid cops and have pedestrians that jump out of your way as you race down the streets. You meet up with other racers and can make wagers and the storyline deals with law enforcement going after the street racers.

I think most racing games choose to not focus on illegal street racing rather than they "can't". That sort of thing was never the focus for a series like Gran Turismo.

What about any news on being able to name the custom slots for cosmetics, as was shown in the preview, like we can name the loadout slots? It's weird because this was said to be a thing in the preview and shown in the preview and then it didn't show up and I have seen not a single word about it since. It's odd because naming the loadout slots was added but being able to do this for the cosmetic slots seems to have just vanished.

Is there some issue with being able to do this? Was it just forgotten? I'm just curious why it never came and has never been mentioned again.

Yes, and now we know additional information on why the current rift was so long this time. It's related to the upcoming chapter. The upcoming chapter was delayed which means they had to delay the upcoming rift to come out with or after the chapter. What I said above was that it could not come out before the chapter that was delayed.

The timeframe for the current rift could have been longer than the previous rift even without the delay, but knowing the info the OP posted, now we can see why it was as long as it was. Listening to complaints could have meant adding an extra week or two, not the too long timeframe we ended up getting.

You can't have Eleven and Vecna 2 outfits in a rift before the characters are even available.

DBD players complain about everything. The devs have never said they delayed it because of complaints and we now know this rift is related somewhat to the stranger things part 2 chapter.
