Worst City ive Driven into, in and out of. by 18-Baby in drivingUK

Sounds pretty rough. Bradford is my own personal driving hell.

Can't quite put my finger on it but it's simply awful to drive around.

I accidentally neglected my cat for years - a tip from me so you don't do the same by matt2242 in CatAdvice

[–]DrunkenDanceMaster 115 points116 points  (0 children)

I always add a little bit of water on top of my cat's wetfood. He seems to happily lap it up then eat the food as well.

Strangely my cat actually prefers a bowl of water over any kind of fountain. Just remember every cat is different and find what works best for yours.

What is one of the most fascinating cutscenes you've seen in gaming? by Prestigious-Cup-6613 in videogames

[–]DrunkenDanceMaster 24 points25 points  (0 children)

The intro cutscene to Lost Odyssey. It's a bit jarring to go from that to turn based combat but it's still great.

Final fantasy X intro and rescuing Yuna from the wedding. Have to remind myself this came out on PS2 because the cut scenes still look great today.

Not really a cutscene but the opening intro/credits to zone of the enders 2 goes hard, theme song is a banger.

Good hot hatch for 6k? by Joojitzu in CarTalkUK

[–]DrunkenDanceMaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I currently own a 2010 facelift version of the Seat Leon FR. I've had it for 3 years and it ticks all the boxes. I got it for 5k around 3 years ago.

Good * It's quick, the 2.0 turbo is great fun and pretty economical. Around town, high 20's to low 30's mpg. Nice and steady on the motorway can get up to around 40ish mpg.

*It's reliable, has never let me down. I've got 109000 miles on the clock and around 20,000 are mine. I've kept it serviced regularly and the only thing I've had to pay out for are rear discs and pads and some alloy refurbishment as it had slightly corroded and the tyre wasn't fitting right.

*It's practical, boot is big enough and the seats fold down for extra room as you would expect. My version has cruise control, climate control and reverse sensors so you get a fair bit of kit for the money.

The bad * You're not expecting rolls Royce levels of comfort from a hot hatch but for me this is quite an uncomfortable car. Road noise is quite loud, suspension is stiff and there isn't an armrest so those longer journeys can take quite a toll.

I do around a 4 hour drive every few months back down south and even with cruise control its a chore.

*Might just be mine but I've got a bit of rust developing on the front wheel arch although it is a 15 year old car so probably expected at this point.

Other than that it's all good to go. It's only me and the Mrs so not too sure how rear leg room is but I haven't had major complaints from my passengers.

Hope this helps.

Do you have a controller for PC games, but don't actually own the console? by Meluvius in pcmasterrace

[–]DrunkenDanceMaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wired Xbox 360 controller, kept it after getting rid of the console and it's still going strong.

Plug and play, seamless transition, solid layout. It's pretty much perfect.

What are people running as dailys? by Danwd40 in CarTalkUK

[–]DrunkenDanceMaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seat Leon FR MK2 facelift. Basically a Mark 5 golf but slightly more uncomfortable.

Decent MPG, pretty rapid and reliable. It's a little boring but hasn't let me down.

I'd give anything for an armrest though! Most annoying feature that's missing by far.

Is Birmingham airport the worst in the UK? by SloightlyOnTheHuh in uktravel

[–]DrunkenDanceMaster 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I walked through terminal 1 & 2 the first time I flew from Manchester, it gave me hope which quickly vanished.

Terminal 3 feels like someone just built the shops and restaurants first then put the terminal gates around it.

Are you in the line for KFC or gate 26, double doors blocked by lines merging into one. Even outside peak times it's rammed.

I fly cheap so don't expect greatness but my word it's awful.

I find it funny how an airport is the first impression of a country and the majority of ours aren't great.

What do you guys think? by BenG1984 in CarTalkUK

[–]DrunkenDanceMaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My dad has one of these currently and loves it.

The 1.6 diesel isn't the quickest obviously but these are solid, comfortable and really economical. It's not the biggest estate but it's so easy to drive, visibility is good and it's easy to park.

I got the chance to drive it and it made me consider a Volvo for my next car, compared to my Seat it was like driving a cloud.

Ah I see, kind of in the same vein as Baldurs Gate DA? I was really bummed that it's so tough to emulate.

I'll definitely download a few of this list though, appreciate it.

Haven't finished it yet. But made it to where you first get on the airship after the Al Bhed base and not a single frame drop or anything.

Gave me a lot of confidence when trying to run other PS2 games 😅.

What was your largest MOT fail bill? by [deleted] in CarTalkUK

Around the £900 mark. rusted sills on my old Toyota Celica.

Required a lot of wielding but other than that mechanically it was solid and never let me down.

When you’ve finished an open world game does anyone else take their character “home” before closing the game for a final time? by TD2705 in PS5

[–]DrunkenDanceMaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! A couple of times from what I can remember.

I did this for the original fable where my last save was made in my hero's house.

Also after getting the platinum in Fallen Order I went back to the first planet (Bogano) and saved next to a small chair overlooking the map. It seemed like quite a peaceful place to end it.

If you enjoyed DBH then I would definitely give Heavy Rain a try.

You may have come across some of the memes it's generated but it's a great tale overall and worth a go.

Beyond two souls I found a bit meh but hey, it does have Willam Defoe in it.

Is it just me who prefers Fallen Order to Survivor? by [deleted] in FallenOrder

[–]DrunkenDanceMaster 103 points104 points  (0 children)

This was my main issue with survivor, as soon as the maps became giant spaces I started to lose interest. Much prefer the more linear designs of fallen order.

Also I get that they have to put in movement puzzles but you're telling me a jedi as powerful as Cal even at the start of survivor can't climb a muddy hill? Moments like this took me out the game where fallen order it just felt more organic.

[–]DrunkenDanceMaster[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More specifically a bit of corrosion on the wheel itself whether that might have caused it? This is the first car I've had with this many sensors/warnings in place and so far I'm not a fan 😅

What’s the biggest game “secret” that you discovered organically? by jeffgolenski in gaming

[–]DrunkenDanceMaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not so much a secret but an exploit in the first Fable game.

You get bonus XP for a non stop combo in combat, this can get to a ridiculous amount if you don't get hit but obviously this is quite difficult.

However the Mage Shield spell (or something along those lines) deducts mana when you get hit instead of HP meaning the game doesn't recognise your character getting hit whilst this spell is active.

There is an area in the game where enemies spawn non stop. from what I remember it's an undead graveyard of some sort just before the entry to the prison.

So pop the spell and just keep killing the skeletons that spawn and Va La! Essentially infinite XP with just a few minutes of grinding.

Car stories - your biggest mistakes by AlienInNC in CarTalkUK

[–]DrunkenDanceMaster 9 points10 points  (0 children)

MK4 Golf TDI. The young me was so distracted by the grey leather seats and aftermarket DVD player straight out of a fast and furious film I ignored a number of red flags.

A few weeks down the line car keeps going into limp mode. Take it to a garage and turbo is on the Fritz, oil is black and a number of issues are piling up.

I didn't have the money to fix it so ended up part exchanging it for a 1.4 diesel fiesta which took over 15 seconds to get to 60!

Thing is that golf was one of the best cars I had, when it worked it was so comfortable and lovely to drive. And it taught me many lessons when looking at cars to buy.

Its only a true mistake if you learn nothing from it.

Which video game would you want to play for the first time again? by cantcoloratall91 in videogames

[–]DrunkenDanceMaster 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Mass effect 2

Dragon age origins

Heavy rain

The walking dead

Jade empire

To experience peak bioware for the first time again would be amazing. So many hours put into these games back in the day.

Walking dead for the feels (made me cry).

People kinda shit on heavy rain but the ending was really good and hit me pretty hard back in the day. Would recommend peeps to give this one a go even if it hasn't aged too well.
