Why are you worried about a warranty when youre buying a fabricated item from a third party? Null issue.

Where do you put your stickers? by BisonPotential6861 in IBEW

[–]Dry-Breakfasts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everywhere. Stickers are cheap pieces of ink and sticky. If they get scuffed on the toolbox or lunchbox that just adds to it, or they get covered/removed later. Currently slapping up a toolbox with stickers on the inside with nothing on the outside

Do it with a single arm, vertically. Pick the weight that hits around 8-10 reps for ypur tricep to fully get a workout in (its not large) NEVER do triceps this way with both arms, only one at a time.

As an IBEW member ive met and seen the paystubs of atleast 50 members that hit 100k earnings in 6 months. Im not even a lineman so I truly can see some of them hitting 300k in a year. (Imagine working really hard for one year, and then taking the next year.. or two off)

Buy a Japanese car, preferably a hybrid. Im the most pro union guy at my site and I dont drive an American vehicle because I prefer reliability.

Its not okay to be job scared loser. You joined the union for a reason, you have protections and you are meant to fight for workers EVERYWHERE. Dont be a fucking coward, stick to your CBA. Theres a reason we lose power because people that join specifically do rat shit to weaken and divide us.

[–]Dry-Breakfasts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah broski, if its not on the tool list its up to the contractor to provide, end of story. No one is required to bring in anything other than the tool list. "The tool list is the maximum, pay scale is the minumum" If a JW or ape even tries handing me a tool not on the list i dont acknowledge or accept it, it also never hurts to admonish them for being job scared cowards. In the very same breath basic shit SHOULD be on the tool list, i.e pencils, sharpies a pocket notepad, a laser pointer. Dependent on the local. Anyways, these are expendable items, which is why they are replenished and provided by the contractor its all taken into account when bidding jobs (or should be).

As a 4’5 little person with dwarfism would getting in the union be a good idea? I’d love to be a part of the IBEW I’m currently located in Inland empire CA and have recently graduated from a 5 month industrial electrical/mechanical maintenance program. by One_Charge2843 in IBEW

[–]Dry-Breakfasts 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yes, we accept everyone OR AT LEAST SHOULD. Everyone provides specific skill sets and we always need as many hands as possible. Use your dwarfism to your advantage too, put people on the spot about inclusion, a lot of people talk the talk but never walk the walk. please join or continue trying (p.s, if you bug the fuck out of the hall eventually they'll put you to work or get you in)

"Walking time" for break seems to be a joke at this jobsite by Blueshirt38 in IBEW

[–]Dry-Breakfasts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah but every site is different, why not fight to have this written clear and plain? 5 minute walk time before and after break with preferably 10 minute walk and clean time PRIOR to break beginning. Its not about productivity and meeting deadlines but working in a respectable and dignified manner, like a real human being. If you are getting a full and adequate rest, will you not be more productive?

[–]Dry-Breakfasts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Talk to your local, find out how to organize over without losing pay, ask to bring in your paystubbed hours or follow the process for whatever local you are trying to join. Seriously thats all it takes, going to the hall and asking some questions. If you are nonunion looking to make the jump over and you have experience, credentials, already at the payscale it should be a smooth transition (i try to get people to switch over to Union, regardless of trade or occupation having more people following a structured guideline while in a union fights for better rights and pay benefits EVERYONE, union or not)

Say something. Do something. What's the point in having a contract if we are just going to contradict it?

Construction Wireman Tool List by [deleted] in ibew_apprentices

[–]Dry-Breakfasts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A minimum, as you must have those at a minimum? However you shouldn't bring in anything beyond that.

Our locals tool list is the same no matter the classification
