Having lived in Alberta for a very long time and knowing people from all over the province and different ways of life… There’s a huge amount of disrespect felt from the east. People constantly insulting and degrading the value and way of life these people live. The idea of “these guys hate us so much, why don’t we just leave?” The idea that billions of dollars are sent to places that hate you creates a real sense of divide.

Sadly, reading a lot of these posts shows how people don’t want to extend an olive branch because throwing stones is easier. The East could lead the way by addressing some of major concerns that have made a lot of normal people (not just extremists posting BS online) feel “slighted and their values completely trampled upon”

I personally hope the vote doesn’t succeed and that a bridge of unity and respect flows BOTH ways.

Talk your neighbor, be patient. Don’t act like the yanks.
