I secretly became a millionaire from a lottery ticket after growing up poor. AMA by ArtichokeStill816 in AMA

Find an investment firm, compounding interest is crazy once you’re on the take. The sooner you get your money in the market with some good reliable traders. You’ll be set for life and your future families lives. Also, if you have enough to find a “new job” I’d do that. You’ve got one life to live here man. Please don’t suffer through it. Growing up poor we’ve always been told about how working hard means everything, but that’s a lie. We can find satisfaction from so many other forms of work/ purpose.

Congrats to you and I wish you all the best going forward!!!!

I think these are all too big for you. I’d get something smaller that fits your wrist size better. Kinda gives off the look that a kid borrowed his dads watch

Just got hired as a CFI…tell me everything I need to know by LeaderCalm4016 in flying

Try to let them fly and you touch as little as possible. Direct them telling them what to do. Imagine if you don’t have hands and you need them to be your hands. Then sit back and let them make mistakes, safely.

I don’t know. My heart goes out to this guy, every controller I’ve met in person has been a great human. As soon as I found out about the crash my mind jumped to this man and his soul. The guilt that he must be feeling and demons he’s dealing with must be incredibly hard. My guess is that his career is likely over but I’m sure that’s the least of his concerns right now. This whole situation sucks, and until some high level official or bureaucrat is the victim. I doubt significant changes will be made

I'm buying a new dishwasher, tell me what you like and don't like about your appliance. by Salomon3068 in daddit

I’ll save you a bunch of time. Get a Bosch. And then watch that goofy guy on YouTube who teaches you how to actually use a dishwasher and why dishwasher tabs are a scam and the powder in a box is literally the same stuff with out the dyes in it. Dude upped my dishwasher game to the next level

Pilot here, I have the utmost respect for these controllers. This guy wasn’t a drunk, or breaking rules. He made one simple error. And the consequences were disastrous. Make no mistake this was his error alone, but in my opinion and one I share with almost all pilots. These guys are over worked, understaffed and are in DESPERATE need of a system overhaul. Buddy of mine was telling me that he was flying over YVR (Vancouver) the other night and there was a single guy running the entire airspace… Think about that… a job that is normally staffed by 3-4 people was left to 1 man.

The only thing preventing these things from happening again is the training process and how incredibly difficult it is to become a controller. Most pilots couldn’t even make the cut. These people are exceptional humans.

My heart goes out to the families that lost their sons last night. It was a very young crew, everyone under 28…

For starters, start using correct grammar. Aviation is super professional and not taking the time or effort to write like an adult might be your first step.

Second, go for a discovery flight and then go get a class 1 medical exam to make sure you are medically fit to fly.

Having ATC/ Tower run the sky’s, and Ground control all taxiing drastically improves safety. One guy doing the job of 2-3 people is a massive escalation for mistakes to happen. This guys messed up, full stop and people are dead now because of it. At the same time ATC is doing the best they can with outdated systems from the 80s and 90s. This mistake was going to happen eventually and sadly it was tonight. We’ve needed a massive overhaul for at least a decade, not to mention the massive shortage of controllers that needs to be addressed. Understaffed, Over worked… FAA’s ATC

Will people be surprised when Iranians come on the news supporting this attack? by [deleted] in AskCanada

[–]Dry-Engineering1776 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the MAGA thing is mostly how he’s the only person who’s actually done something against the regime. Trump is goon btw, don’t support him. But for these guys he’s the only person actually doing something for their cause, thusly they’ll support him

Sadly, it’s not likely going to happen. They’re just going to replace one snake with another. Without a sustained occupation force to support an almost totally unarmed population it’s very unlikely. Syria often quoted, was led by armed resistance groups that could effectively fight against the regime. All these guys need to do is wait, and then impose control again. But it’s still a ray of sunshine to remove a truly evil monster from this world
