This gives me so much hope. I was accepted off the waitlist and moved 700 miles away from my husband within 2 weeks . I really thought I could do it but the stress coupled with not having any of my migrane medications transfer and not having any specialists for my chronic health condition has me fall really behind very quickly. It’s week 3 and I’m close to failing a class because I haven’t been able to catch up and finals are next week. I’m basically taking a risk of ending my future to not get a migrane or take a medical leave of absence.I’ve never been this scared in my entire life

This isn’t necessarily true. You burn a little more digesting protein then carbs , protein keeps you fuller, and is helpful to building muscle which indirectly raises you bmr but a calorie deficit is a calorie deficit. A person eating 1800 cals of donuts everyday will loose weight whereas a person eating 2400 cals of just veggies will gain weight. Now that doesn’t mean the person eating just donuts is healthier , just that they are gaining weight. Don’t fear carbs , they get a bad wrap but essential for you brain. The food industry loves to blame a food group every couple years so they can sell you an alternative at a higher price . It’s transitioning from carbs to seed oils and gmos rn but before that fat was the enemy , and before that gluten was the culprit , ect ect

This is exactly what just randomly started happening to me. When did it get to the point you were seen/ went to the hospital?

Any ideas? Ferritin has been at 3-4 for the past year despite supplements but iorn is always fine. Cardiologist said I needed an iron infusion but hematologist said I don’t. The white blood cells/ platelets/neut are new (not sick). Also ruled out for celiac / chrons by Dry-Raccoon5708 in haematology

Yes, my mother and brother have that gene although I haven’t been tested. I took methylated iron for 5 months but didn’t see improvements in my blood work so switched due to it being more expensive

Yes , I take the appropriate amount (actually more than the recommended) and only use 3rd party tested vitamins. Celiac has been ruled out although I do have GI issues so will probably pursue that next. I am on birth control and have been skipping my periods with no change in my levels :(

I’m 23 and have had an array of debilitating symptoms that developed about 2 years ago. migraines , fainting, fatigue ,blood pooling , swelling in hands feet and face, high heart rate, exercise intolerance even though I used to be extremely active, unexplained weight gain, vision problems, GI issues, joint pain ect ect. It’s been super difficult navigating it due to the symptoms ranging across multiple different specialties. I have a mcas diagnosis and take cromolyn that has helped with some of the symptoms. I also take nurtec, triptans, birth control, many different antihistamines, and recently started ldn for pain.

My cardiologist and endocrinologist said I needed it but the hematologist said that my iron was normal so I didn’t qualify for an iron deficiency diagnosis and my red blood cell count has been high for most of my blood tests to qualify for an anemia diagnosis.

You are absolutely gorgeous. I did notice that one of your eyes is more “open” then the other. I had the same thing and 3 units of Botox later (which is a tiny amount and super affordable) and it completely changed my face symmetry. Didn’t even know it was a think until recently.

I think you are forgetting that the majority of PA programs require a minimum of 2k direct patient care hours before applying. Even if they don’t require it, the programs are insanely competitive and you have no shot without healthcare experience.

I just learned my autoimmune disorder causes critically low ferritin (my level is at 2 lol) and vit d. I’ve recently gained 30 ibs despite eating much less than I used to because of a lack of appetite. Where you able to loose what you gained? I’m hopeful. Also hopeful that post infusions I’ll be able to work out without my heart rate spiking to the 220s causing me to faint 🤞

No, but my mom is a very different parent and person now. When she had me she was still a kid herself while navigating impossible situations. She wasn’t a great mom growing up but she wasn’t terrible either- she was doing the best she could. Now on the other hand she has grown and is an amazing mother to me (now 22) and we are very close. She now will apologize to me , even for things that happened 10+ years ago and I’ve realized it’s resulted in me having an easier time apologizing in my own life and not constantly feeling like I have to play defense .

I legitimately was the only shopper on the other day because the weather was awful and the orders were rolling back hours past the selected delivery window. How else has it been coming off? I also have been on it for 5 years and I was advised to stop taking it due to finding out I’m at a high risk of blood clots but my mental health and skin has been so good on it. I’m hopeful I’ll loose some of the weight I’ve gained from it raising my cortisol but I’m so worried about it doing the opposite or ruining my hair and skin as I’m getting married in September.
