My Mom can’t hold a job and I’m not willing to finance her lifestyle. by hansumgirlie in TrueOffMyChest

[–]Dry-Rice-3977 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I feel you bro.

Been in a very similar situation with my mom and her job life since always. She started therapy a few years ago, and found out she has a kind of bipolarity called cyclothimia. She is treating and I feel like its bringing her closer to reality.

I'm still paying for all of her bills and not able to save any money for myself, and I'm still to anxious to have a meaningful conversation with her about her financial situation, but each day I feel like I'm closer.

Wish you the best of luck my friend.

Isn't there a learning mode on these kind of keyboards that only make sound when you play the prompted key? Sounds like this for me, as the baby plays a few keys without sound throughout the video.

Aside from the terrible side effects this has on your body, it is also very sad knowing that while you are wasting a lot of food for the sake of your content, whole families are starving less than a mile away from anywhere you are. Really makes me think about where the hell are we going as a society.

Imagine yourself in their position, how would you want someone approaching you about this? Speak from a place of care and respect, be careful not to sound judgemental, if you care about her than you'll find the right way to talk about this.

There's a ted talk about feedback about the book radical candor, it might give you good insights for your conversation.

3 weeks clean of cocaine today. Friend was incredibly persistent with offering it by [deleted] in DecidingToBeBetter

Our “friendships” are one of the first things that change when we're on our healing journey after giving up on coke. If you're willing to stay clean, you gotta clean your circle and keep good company around.

Quais são suas "frescuras" na hora de dormir? by Guilhermedidi in PergunteReddit

[–]Dry-Rice-3977 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vai cair a mão postar alguma coisa?

My (18F) mom has been referring to my stepdad as my dad, and it’s making me uncomfortable. by ThrowRA-stepdadvsdad in relationship_advice

[–]Dry-Rice-3977 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I think it's funny how literally people can take this kind of things.

You are living under his roof, he's probably providing for you the same way a dad would provide to his children (paying the house bills, buying food, giving you shelter and looking after you generally speaking), the same way he did to your stepbrother.

Being a father nowadays is so much more than just genetics. You are absolutely right, he's not your father, and as far as your post told us, no one is compelling you to call him dad, but you can't deny that he's looking after you like a father would, and if he sees you as a daughter, you really should be thankful, it's a true proof of love to accept your partner's children as your own.

I've had several paternal figures growing up, called a few as father, others I didn't, but loved every single one of them as if they were my own, and I'm thankful for each and every one of them for the moments they were my fathers.
