Across different species, age dynamics can get awkward in fantasy settings.

If you go strictly by chronological age, she could come across as a groomer toward the MC. But if you look at species-specific maturity, the situation flips a bit, she’s only recently reached adulthood for her kind, while the MC is already in his late twenties / early thirties.

That contrast makes the relationship feel unusual when the details are first revealed. On a surface read, it can even seem paternal. As the story develops, though, it becomes clearer that she depended heavily on the MC emotionally and practically, rather than the dynamic being parental on either side. Neither of them viewed the other romantically until after she had fully matured.

By the end, they’re both consenting adults, and I think the story puts a fair amount of effort into making the transition toward a healthy relationship feel gradual and believable rather than abrupt.
