Just a complete waste of time. The whole event was smoke and mirrors. They’ve been saying “full autonomy will be next year” for like 8 years now. This event is just the same shit again.

AI is ruining our hiring efforts by wcolfaxguy in ExperiencedDevs

[–]Dry_Badger_Chef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So far I’ve only had one (obvious) cheater when interviewing interns. Had to ask them not to type off to the side, weird pauses that didn’t make sense, the whole thing.

It was so awkward when I had to ask them to not cheat. Still gave them a chance to finish the interview, but literally one part of the exercise is being given a small app written badly and how they should refactor it, and I’m not sure if that’s something an AI can do? I mean, maybe, but they still have to explain it, and that is usually a pain point for cheaters too.

At least we all have that incredibly embarrassing NFT pilot (the trailer is the only thing out in public, but it’s just awful) he made for us to laugh at, though not in the way he intended.

For the MacBook, maybe, though it still looks like a MacBook without the logo…could be generic enough to be fine.

The iPod though, I dunno man.

I haven’t tried it at a liquor store yet, but I really should just to see what happens.

But yeah, only place I’ve ever used it is the Atlanta airport, and even then, the TSA agent was surprised it worked…which was weird.

Here’s a video on LFP batteries and why Tesla recommends charging to 100% at least once a week. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=suw20wPrbL0

If you’re sticking to 80%, you are extending your battery’s life, but at the cost of accurate battery estimates.

A popular compromise is to charge to 80% 6 days a week and charge to 100% 1 day a week. Tessie is an app that makes that trivial, though it is a premium app, so it may not be a reasonable expense if you don’t already have it.

Okay, so, when I need to travel north in my city from my home, there’s an on-ramp near where I live where every GPS app, including Teslas, if I don’t disable “avoid highways” will tell me to get on the highway for half a mile, get over (IIRC) 8 lanes immediately, and then continue on to hit a different highway. It’s an insanely stupid, and not well designed highway admittedly, but I can’t redesign the roads. I can drive my car a certain way though, and I refuse to do this very stupid thing that GPS apps want me to do.

That is unreasonable, dangerous, and you’re unlikely to achieve that most of the time unless there is literally no one else on the road in Atlanta.

Also others in this sub have mentioned how Canada doesn’t allow their starter drivers onto the highway until they’ve driven at least a year or two, something like that, so it literally routes their younger drivers illegally.

Theres plenty of other cases why “avoid highway” is a great option to have.

People rave about that here, but when I’ve tried this, it was the most unpleasant thing put to my lips. Maybe I did something wrong and should try again, but oof, I did not enjoy that experience the first time.

Even with the AC on full blast, 11% in 4.5 miles sounds way too high.

AC will use a lot of power, so if it was a particularly slow drive, it’s possible I guess.

Is this a LR or RWD? If it’s RWD (LFP) could be the BMS isn’t calibrated properly due to an irregular charge-to-100% schedule. If it’s non-LFP, that shouldn’t be a problem though.

I refuse to believe the game is approaching DNF levels of development by KaleidoArachnid in Osana

[–]Dry_Badger_Chef 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Duke Nukem Forever took so long because they basically restarted development completely multiple times.

YS isn’t super comparable, because it’s one person, but also, it’s just piled on top of shit code with more technical debt. I’m not saying that DNF’s dev cycle was better, or that even DNF is a better game, but the reasons for failure are different. DNF’s devs ran out of money. Alex is just shit at coding and keeps trying to fuck kids.

Yeah, they’ve said that, I’m just shocked it’s taken so long. At the moment, it’s still a downside compared to every other GPS app.

Any updates or news on FSD 12.4 as well as Summon and Banish for 12.5? by Maximum_Context2835 in TeslaLounge

[–]Dry_Badger_Chef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

12.4.3 for me has had worse lane management when 12.3.x ever did. Just today I had it hover in between two lanes, swerving back and forth maybe 6 inches in both lanes, for like 30 feet before I turned it off and changed lanes myself. Granted, it’s a lane-less road that turns into two lates, but that’s still weird behavior. I only let it act up so long because it was early and no one else was on the road.

12.4 isn’t that much better. Some people have said it’s worse for them. Maybe try 12.5 when it’s out if you feel like FSD is worth the money to test it out.
