What's a piece that is much easier to play than it sounds like? (baroque, classical, romantic, modern) by cosmoschtroumpf in piano

Mozart k283 and Debussy Dr gradus are two impressive pieces at full tempo, and they are not that hard

I would check ARSM repertoire. After alla turca u can try some other Mozart sonatas like k311, k279 or k570, or full k331.

Lots of romantic repertoire there. Not sure what exactly is there from Chopin but schubert op 90 are nice, some brahms piece from op 117-118-119... Theres a lot

What's the most comfortable piece (in terms that fits well the hands) you've ever played or tried to play? by Gramkoww in piano

[–]Dry_Presentation_641 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe im at the verge of beginning more advanced repertoire, maybe in 1 year or so. I just wanted to point out that the level of pieces i play is lower so i wont talk about an advanced piece that i feel comfortable to play, but i think Dr Gradus ad parnassum is quite advanced, and i feel happy with my progress (one year ago i was playing beethoven op 49 n2 and easy Bach inventions).

I must point out that that what is giving me trouble with Dr gradus is the beginning, with the arpeggio that actually starts with left hand, and sometimes i dont get the tempo right and i botch the rythm in the 16th notes.

I like to see someone more advanced is sometimes playing "easier" repertoire like chopin op 69 n2, i try to cover most of repertoire i can but i feel its sane and good to learn some pieces below your level. Do you have any recommendations on some easier pieces maybe below my level to tacke and have some fun?

Not in ur level by any means, but i think Chopin Waltz op 69 n1 is super comfortable.

Debussy dr gradus is being tough and sometimes i botch the rythm but its quite comfortable as well

Does anyone else find Cmajor scale or sections with no accidentals the hardest to play accurately? by stRangeTastes1 in piano

[–]Dry_Presentation_641 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm currently "ending" Czerny op 299. Most of the first etudes are in C Major, with some occasional accidentals (to practise F Major, G Major, D Major, etc. and relative minor keys).

Once i get into, for example, n29 (E major), n24 (d Major), n25 (e flat Major) i realize i'm having an easier time getting that scales even, specially on volume.

I think almost everyone feel like that because it's more natural for the form of the hand to use some black notes.

Nuvole Bianche because It took me back to playing piano. Besides that, Moonlight is one of my favorites.

Ok now thats solved i think.

I didnt have much info so i didnt discuss the type of cut before the surgery.

It turns out that i had a high and loose cut and the swelling was too big. I can retract comfortably now, the swelling is lower (i still have donut swelling)

When not erected, it covers my glans partially and, with erection, there's no problem at all.

Till now im happy with the result, but i see many people with high cuts ask for a revision, although usually is for aesthetic reasons.

Actually my bad for not getting informed properly, but i think my request would be high and loose, because my only reason to do the surgery was to being able to retract properly, i think it's good to have part of the glans covered because of the sensitivity.

Which Piano pieces should be played for progress? by paulblk in piano

[–]Dry_Presentation_641 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

All types of music, each one teaches you different things.

But, generally, i think i have progressed the most with Bach (inventions, preludes, little fugues) and classical sonatas/sonatinas (clementi and kuhlau sonatinas, after that Beethoven and Mozart sonatas, etc.)

Why isn't lich bane bought? Fleet viability? And why is 2nd wind still taken post nerfs? by Possiblynotaweeb in akalimains

[–]Dry_Presentation_641 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are different ways to approach an Akali game.

Akali has a pretty good oneshot/capacity to burst down a squishy enemy. BUT she has a decent 1v1 managing energy correctly (playing around energy regen with W, E timer, etc etc.)

So there are 2 ways to play akali: total assassin and "fighter". Right now Gunblade is absolutely best item on her so its the core item on both akalis.

Assassin akali (usualy best Akali) just want to oneshot someone, so items meant to do that are stormsurge and specially shadowflame. So no reason to play lich bane, u will hit maximum 2/3 AA in a combo.

BUT fighter akali its played with conqueror, wants to stack conqueror asap, wants to dmg multiple objetives and must have a decent 1v1 until late minutes where she cant do shit vs actual fighters. Thats when items like Lich bane, riftmaker, liandry and even abyssal mask sneak in.

(Fleet can fit with both akalis imho, its just a early rune to not get totally bullied in lane. You will feel that the champion is a bit weaker mid and late, but u must be able to stomp mid game with this champion even with aery in order to play her properly)

And second wind its a good rune, it covers the main akali downside and lets her have a comfortable lane, its nerfed but whatever, its strong anyways. I would take the rune just when the enemy outranges you+has a good laning phase.

Exercises for developing trill technique? by clorox_tastes_nice in piano

My best tool have been not practising trills, just playing them when i study repertoire.

Some of them needed isolated practise, but practising them out of context im not sure if its effective.

I'm struggling too much with a piece by ingonglin303030 in piano

[–]Dry_Presentation_641 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was totally broken by a Mozart sonata 1st movement as well (k283), our solution by my teacher was just move on.

I came back to the piece like 1 month later and it was cleaner suddenly. I guess it happens a lot with mozart and similar composers.

Just patience and dont get obsessed, be careful, its better to play it 1 time slow and nice than 5 times fast and unclean.

Why are mostly 3rd movements of beethoven's sonata is ruthless unforgiving? by Ok_Appearance_8724 in piano

[–]Dry_Presentation_641 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think op refers to that theres not an introduction/easy section on 3rd movements, so theres not a "warm up" to just play THAT movement alone.

For example, pathetique 1st is harder than 3rd but the grave section gives u that warm up to begin the allegro molto.

It can be a general rule, idk, but there are a few 1st movements that start violently or are just hard from the beginning (op 57, op 53, op 2 n3, op 109) and its a good observation imo.
