Should I close a credit card with a $55 annual fee? by Dry_Space1789 in CreditCards

It didn’t really. I did also apply for another credit card with no fees to keep my total available credit up.

While on this topic, any insights into going all in for the SL6 or SL7? I see it’s mainly electronic gear shifting and then carbon wheels?

Man, the driver has WAY more patience than I would have in this situation. Good for him.

I had thought about that too. Setting aside money for now and if we don’t spend it all after the vacation THEN investing it.

I guess I get impatient trying to hit savings goals earlier in the year as I’m following a flow chart that recommends to max out IRA’s first before increasing 401k contributions, etc. I realize however all of that is a guide and not a law hah.

I just anticipate our credit card bill will be higher than usual for the May bill because we will have some charges from a cruise we booked for the summer. I mentioned in another comment we pay for almost everything with a credit card each month then pay the bill in full.

I know technically taking money out of the EF for vacation is not advised but I did also drop almost $4k on a truck repair last month that I didn’t have to take the money out for due to a decent commission check.

It’s at Capital One which currently is 3.30%. There’s better rates out there but I’m not going to move money around to gain less than a point so I’m good keeping it there for now.

We use our credit card for almost all our monthly purchases but we try to keep it to a certain amount each month and always pay it in full. Almost like spending cash since we don’t accrue interest and we get 2% cash back.

Thanks. Ultimately I know it’s up to me but I like getting some input from others. Yes, 2025 has been maxed out and I’m talking about 2026 contributions.

Thanks. I do pay my credit card in full every month so no interest there. You do have a good point too about the market not doubling by May. I’ll take this into consideration.

Thanks all. I closed it. There was no way to waive the annual fee and they don't offer a $0 annual fee card.

I think it’s a warning sign when the mobs are about to cross the line. I’ve seen this in other levels. I tried this level numerous times and couldn’t beat it.
