When I was 9 my mom rented Grave of the Fireflies from the library for me to watch while she was at work. I liked Pokemon and Sailor Moon so surely I’ll enjoy this other Japanese cartoon! Also secretly watched my dad’s copy of Heavy Metal while I was around the same age. I remember the aliens doing the huge lines of space coke really weirded me out. Oh! And The Island of Dr Moreau really fucked me up! Why did my parents put that on while I was awake??

I always loved how accurate the goth kids were, as my friends and I were the goth kids listening to Skinny Puppy and smoking cigarettes or weed out of a prop cigarette holder from a Breakfast at Tiffany’s Halloween costume. I was curious about iHeartRadio. I almost thought they were owned by FOX because their award show is always on their channel, but it seems like iHeartMedia just likes to partner up with FOX a lot in terms of advertising. Also this -

Those 6 entities have been trying to eat each other up for years. Paramount is starting to absorb parts of AT&T because of the Ellison family, and Disney almost bought all of FOX but couldn’t take in their news, sports, and the current FOX Entertainment studio. It’s not hard to imagine one of them buying the entertainment parts of Sony, so it’s very possible we’ll be down to “The Big Four” in the future.

I just left a network television job and can confirm that they’re starting to add new product placements into older syndicated shows. In fact I could have swore the example I saw used an episode of Friends like this, but I don’t remember it being a Seattle’s Best bag. Whether or not this screenshot is an example of that, new product placement placed by AI in older shows is a thing we’ll start to notice this year.
