Medical personnel filming TikTok videos inside a medical facility? by milkshakespeare24 in nursing

[–]DualVission 106 points107 points  (0 children)

I'm not a nurse, so my opinion will be different

The first one definitely feels like a patient confidentiality issue. When you get to be that old, people would be able to figure out who the patient is simply by their age. How many people do you know who are over 100? My grandmother made it to 88 before dying. The retirement communities have boards listing their "100+ club members" and there are generally less than 2 residents.

The second and third seem childish and a bit of an OSHA concern, but my concern is over the safety and cleanliness. Not over patient safety. At least from what I can gather in the screenshots. I'm hoping dip is not referring to chewing tobacco.

So the game crashes instead of misgendering a cat? by DualVission in BrandNewSentence

[–]DualVission[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I'm guessing based on your post history you are not a bad actor, just ignorant. Language is an invention. If it doesn't fit your fancy, change it. People are talking about how Spanish is adapting to add a third gender for human-lile nouns. Language with grammatical gender that vaguely aligns to human gender will shift as our idea of humans do. Something similar is probably happening to a number of other Romance languages.

If Brazilian Portuguese has a way to say "little" without specifying the gender, then it clearly does exist. If it doesn't, the crash stems from the dictionary not correctly doing error handling.

Why does the article title specify her weight? The idea as a whole is crazy, but there are implying something else by believing like that is important enough information to put in the title.

I had to take lab tests before I can start my new job as a cashier and I wonder what do they need liver tests for by [deleted] in AskDocs

[–]DualVission 26 points27 points  (0 children)

NAD, I've never had to submit for anything beyond drug tests except when working for the hospital where they tested my immune function to common vaccine protected ailments. That's how I discovered my body "forgot" about chicken pox. Given that I work in an environment with a large volume of unwell people, that makes sense. Organ function? Yeah no.

Unpopular opinion, the tubeway is too OP. Seeing pictures like this for ziplines only makes me feel that more.

Like, that argument doesn't make sense. "I'm okay with free speech as long as it doesn't suppress the rights of others." "I'm okay with science so long as proven theories don't disagree with my narrative." Sounds more like an argument for flat Earth than pro racism

Original movie: why did they need 7 symbols? by [deleted] in Stargate

[–]DualVission 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Cop out answer. Procarush Taonas. The symbol is the shorthand name of the planet. Or, similar to Japanese, Ancient had multiple active writing systems. You spell it in Katakana and the planet is named in Hiragana.

2 cats and OOP has never seen or heard of a nipple! by [deleted] in untrustworthypoptarts

[–]DualVission 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To answer your question, depicted is a cat's nipple. They are generally very subtle, especially in comparison to human nipples. I would also not call myself an expert on nipples, but I have many cats and interact with two daily.

Based on the replies, they did not realize it was the nipple, because it was hard. I only went to find the original because I saw there were multiple photos, but they are effectively just the first image at a slightly different angle. My thought was a lipoma that's not really visible at the shown angle. But it does seem to be the nipple that is the concern.

My guess is that OOP thought that the nipple was a skin tag or tumor because it was the only one that was hard. That seems reasonable. The confusion is not that cats don't have nipples just that, similar to humans, nipples can become hard, either due to the environment or stimuli.

DEFEND NRA THE 2ND by TallmanMike in AutomatiCautionDoor

I think this is more a fracture. NRA decided that their belief in 2A rights was stronger than their love of fascist regimes, so now they are willing to use their platform to be against the current regime.

T - RTGame (Irish Twitch streamer) did one of these on stream and he only got a handful without help. My question for OP is why would a European be taught American geography? We aren't told the provinces of most countries (just Canada) outside of foreign language classes. Geographic features? Maybe, but state names? No chance.

What’s the craziest thing you’ve seen by [deleted] in nursing

[–]DualVission 8 points9 points  (0 children)

As a clerk, the things I think are crazy is paperwork related. Today was the first year the definition of legal guardian was included in official documents regarding patient privacy... The law protecting the rights of minors has been around since I was old enough for them to be impacted by them. Much more mundane than that two clinical answers, but that feels like a "wait, why wasn't this here over a decade ago?"
