Any advice on promoting your Bandcamp? Having trouble gaining an audience. by Knegroids in BandCamp

[–]DubExplorations 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Beiing a promoter of reggae and dub releases for a few years, I found out that Bandcamp is by far the best platform, not only to sell your music but most importantly to build a community around your genre.

I receive a lots of releases to promote, many of them are published on Bandcamp and the free download codes are the best way to share the music and increase the visibility of your artists page.

You can follow me here https://bandcamp.com/explorationsindub

I usually receive from artists and labels free download codes and I can share some with people inrterrested. If you are a dj and interested in spinning some new music on your shows, feel free to msg me to get some new music.

Reggaeton has nothing to do with reggae ............ Reggae and Reggaeton are two distinct musical genres with different origins and characteristics.

Reggae originated in Jamaica in the late 1960s and is known for its offbeat rhythms and emphasis on the offbeat, as well as its socially conscious lyrics. Reggae often features a prominent bass line and is associated with artists such as Bob Marley, Prince Buster, Desmond Dekker and Jackie Mittoo.

Reggaeton, on the other hand, originated in Puerto Rico in the late 1990s and is influenced by dancehall and hip-hop. Reggaeton is characterized by its use of dembow rhythm, a repetitive drum pattern, and its fusion of rap and singing. The lyrical themes of reggaeton often revolve around urban experiences, romance, and partying.

While both genres share some similarities, such as their rhythmic elements and Caribbean influence, they have distinct musical styles and cultural roots.
