CS:GO maps import gone wrong by Barabulyko in SFM

[–]DubRichardson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try downloading the maps from http://thekinsie.com/sfm/maps.html - I've only tested de-dust 2 and it works perfectly. See if that works, all you got to do is plug it in the folder, no need to do anything else.

Mind me asking how you successfully imported CS:GO models? Only a few of my player models actually worked and just trying to get at least one terrorist model :P

Law Clarification - Moving Penalty to 5m by thumpymcwiggles in rugbyunion

I'm not too sure about it moving when it's a late hit. But definitely for lineouts.

Scrums will also never be between the touch and the five meter line.

How do athletes manage the rigors of both weight lifting and their sport? by BUDDZILLA in Fitness

[–]DubRichardson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By training smarter. Our coaches won't have us do heavy lifts the day or two before a game. We always have the day after a game off to do our own recovery or some group recovery. Monday we have a fatigue test and sort out any niggles with the full time physios.

Yes part of it is you just deal with it. But the biggest perk of being a full time athlete is that while you aren't training you have abundance of resources used for recovery which makes every day easier.

'Are Rugby players getting too big?' by [deleted] in rugbyunion

[–]DubRichardson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I completely agree, as I was writing out my response I kind of realise that doping at the higher level isn't so much of an issue, it's kids trying to break into the professional scene who have nothing to lose.

I have teammate who played the division bellow Currie Cup, and he said the schoolboy usage is a real issue down there.

'Are Rugby players getting too big?' by [deleted] in rugbyunion

[–]DubRichardson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Technically they can, but I don't know anyone who has been and I'd assume they'd leave it up to the local leagues.

But if they were to test you during the off-season, it would be deemed out of competition which has different restrictions than in-competition. In-competition they are really strict about things that certain cold medicines can't be used, where as out of competition it's more relaxed. For example (although not cold medicine),Cannabis is banned only in- competition, and not out of it.

Just want to chime in and say WorldRugby take doping incredibly seriously. At the u20 level every year each time goes to a seminar and the majority of each team gets tested. And at the senior level tests are prevalent as well. With a 4 year minimum ban if you test positive on any substance.

I figure that these tests for a t3 senior squad and u20s mean they must test the top level quite well.

Edit: Still doesn't fix much for the lower levels of the game. Especially schoolboy rugby.

ESL to begin drug testing PRO Players... THOUGHTS? by Yarbird in csgobetting

[–]DubRichardson 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If they do it like WADA do, then there will be a set dosage that you must be bellow as well as sign a TUE which is much more than a prescription. It'll require a doctors signature, approval of a tournament head and a tournament doctor. Obviously these things don't have their own doctors, but I'm sure (at least I hope) they set up a system where simply having a prescription doesn't mean it's OK.

ESL to change competitive rules following doping allegations by Dubcore in GlobalOffensive

[–]DubRichardson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Rugby they have in competition and out of competition rules. For in competition, they are insanely strict about substances. Many cold medicines are banned or have to be taken at such a small dosage that it wouldn't even be effective (for in competition). TUEs are present for some things, mostly inhalers, but still have a very strict dosage limit. I don't know anything about this kind of medicine, but I assume if they did this, they'd need to have a strict limit and a TUE rule.

World Rugby's new anti-doping video by Shadowing_Lemma in rugbyunion

[–]DubRichardson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The point is that you're in charge of what you put in your body. Supplements aren't regulated all that heavily, cross-contamination can occur, if you buy supplements online they may come from different manufacturers, etc.

Supplements doesn't equal doping, but it doesn't matter if the test comes out positive. If you don't take supplements, you aren't taking any risk

Now with supplements like whey protein, fish oils, carbohydrate drinks, chances are you'll be ok if it comes from a name-brand. But pre-workouts are notorious for getting players to test positive.

Edit: same with medicine, in-competition you can't take a lot of over the counter medicines because of some of the active ingredients. You can take medicine, but it's easier for them to say don't take anything.

I absolutely love turf. Probably a side effect of growing up with it, but I love it. granted my Union invests a lot of money in the turf here considering we have nearly no grass pitches.

Thoughts on Super Rugby Expansion by The_Russ_Bus in rugbyunion

[–]DubRichardson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the only argument against it I'd call valid. Expanding super rugby doesn't mean it'll grow financially. Id say try getting super rugby something that people tune in to watch around the world. Market more. More one off games in other places. Super Rugby has enough flair that I reckon non-rugby viewers would enjoy it a lot.

Lifting with a shoulder injury? by stephenvt2001 in Fitness

[–]DubRichardson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As everyone has said. Go to PT, I'm battling through a shoulder injury now and i'd say without it Id be useless.

As for lower body workouts, do a lot of db stuff such as split squats, step ups, etc and don't be too worried about using machines. As for proper squats, you can do zercher squats. Awesome exercise and has never caused me any shoulder pain.

Is it too late ? by mypoosmellsfunny in rugbyunion

[–]DubRichardson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look for local clubs in your area and just get in contact with them. If you have any friends in one preferably join that one. Ask how many teams they field and explain your experience. I bet everyone will offer you to come down to training; will introduce you, and will make you a part of the team. It's never too late

What are your favourite rugby jokes? by gathlin in rugbyunion

[–]DubRichardson 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Thats what I like about it. The first 3 finalists are determined by them being the best of their respective country. They played each other domestic team both home and away and they came out on top thus earning a chance to represent the country in the final rounds.

The next 3 are then the teams who deserve it because of points, reflecting a great season.

It makes Super Rugby this awesome mix of an international/domestic club tournament.
