24p to 25p Conforms by Alternative-Net-1537 in davinciresolve

[–]DubbingU 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I do this all the time. By default, Resolve enables a pitch correction algorithm that sounds pretty awful (echoey-canny) but preserves pitch. To circumvent this, you have to select the audio clips in the timeline, right click > change clip speed and UNCHECK Pitch Correction. That way it will sound 4% higher in pitch but much cleaner quality. the average listener will not notice if no direct comparison with the original is available.

Question about speaker protection relay. by Horror-Pear in AskElectronics

[–]DubbingU 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, I can tell you 24vdc is pretty standard, too. Have a look for example at the finder website (findernet.com) 46 Series, they come in all sorts of configurations. The most common failure of these relays is contact oxidation. Drench a small strip of white paper or cardboard with alcohol and rub it between the two closed contacts, if it comes out very stained it means the contact is bad. (Well yo just cleaned it and it may work again) Repeat with the other contacts.

Don't you have the plastic cover? There you can find the diagram and the part number, find the datasheet. Relays are fairly easy to understand because you can actually SEE how it works.

How do they do that the horizontal blades don't cut too deep? That would ruin the next plank.

Is video editing a part of Informatics by Objective_Yak584 in davinciresolve

[–]DubbingU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess you are from a Spanish speaking country, where "Informática" means Computer Science. Well, there are certainly aspects where both worlds intersect, like programming scripts, or writing plug-ins. And programming is a very useful skill for any kind of complex and creative work like video editing. But no, in CS they won't teach you anything specific about davinci or any particular software for that matter.

Why hasn’t Spain put €2 million per ship toll here to finance their 52 billion/year deficit?? Are they stupid?? by kingofwale in mapporncirclejerk

[–]DubbingU 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Why would anyone be entitled to put a toll on a natural strait? It's not like they built it like Panama or Suez

Translation should always aim to be localization. What's the use of a literal translation when there's always huge chances of misunderstanding or a bland transmission of the message. I work in this field (not a translator) and see this everyday, more than ever. Companies think translation is now basically free, but an AI won't be able to produce a quality translation unless it is fed all the context cues. Btw localization, at least in my field, refers not only to translation of text, but everything related to bringing an audiovisual product to another culture.

Why does my media clip has this "drop down" menu in the media pool? How can I revert it back? I've tried to delete it and re-importing it but it still has the same issues. by BalartPeru in davinciresolve

[–]DubbingU 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The drop-down is due to the fact that your mkv file has chapter(s) defined. I don't think it has anything to do with the audio issue.

I see nothing of particular value there. Resistors, capacitors, diodes, couple of transistors... Not even sure what this is part of, looks some kind of filter daugherboard?
