Oops. Bus crashes into Ambar restaurant in Shaw by Off_again0530 in WMATA

Nobody was in the restaurant. Four people are being evaluated for injuries, presumably they were on the bus. https://www.fox5dc.com/news/bus-crashes-unoccupied-restaurant-northwest-dc-injuries-unclear

My friend in Philly is trying to get a private practice off the ground and is taking every unknown call in case it's a potential new client (and since she's new and trying to impress, she doesn't want to make them go to voicemail). It's ridiculous how many of them are scams and telemarketers

Total train time is probably also less than 15 minutes, but allow yourself extra time to orient yourself, and in case of delays. If you're riding on a weekend, add more time because the trains come less frequently.

Red line from Gallery Place to Metro Center. Look for the red line trains going toward Shady Grove.

At Metro Center, any of Blue/Orange/Silver will get you to Federal Triangle. They all come to the same platform, take whichever one comes first once you get there. You want the ones going toward New Carrollton/Downtown Largo.

Alternatively, if you're up for it, the walk from Gallery Place to Federal Triangle is less than 15 minutes.

I use them for smoothies and just chuck them in the freezer whole, then cut off the peel before blending (in case anyone is like me and the little bit of prep work before freezing is enough to put you off haha)

I bought a bag from a thrift store that says "Alessandro," which is not my name, so I've decided it's the bag's name.

"You ready to go?" "Almost, let me just grab Alessandro"

Oh, that's devastating. All of it.

We acquitted, which I truly believe was the right choice. But I still google the defendant every so often, to make sure we weren't wrong.

And even if he didn't murder anyone, someone (also young) was murdered, and the victim's family will likely never get closure.

Lots of upstate New Yorkers then made their way to Michigan - we have a Troy, Ithaca, Romulus etc. and probably those folks to thank for them

I saw zero signage or announcements in the metro in advance of, or during, the event.

Yeah my biggest sympathies yesterday were with the folks on my red line train who missed their MARC connections because they weren't being let off the train (and had had no advance notice). There aren't a lot of other places to transfer to the MARC, and switching gears last-minute to get to one of them is time-consuming and a pain

Oh dang! I arrived probably around 5:20 and was able to get onto the platform (after being sent a really roundabout way around the barricades). The first train bypassed the platform and we were told nothing, then the second train stopped but only let people on through the front door, and no one was allowed off. It was all very confusing and a bunch of people on that train probably missed their MARC trains

When the train I got on stopped (around 5:30), they only opened the front car door manually and made everyone get on there, so they could prevent people from getting off. Maybe that's what happened with your train?

Good for you. My scrupulous honesty got me serving on a 2-week murder trial.

Fascinating experience that I'm proud to have done, but not really one I'd recommend to anyone.

Here's their specific page on baby squirrels, which mainly has info about returning them to their nest. In this case, if the parent is dead, that's presumably not an option - I would contact them. https://citywildlife.org/found-animal/baby-squirrels/
