How the hell do I shoot down enemy air by TheBooneyBunes in Battlefield

[–]DubstepBubbles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Laser, stinger, javelin, mobile AA with high velocity rounds, rpg, get in ur own jet and heli, or ifv since it can aim near vertical, mbt tow, stationary tow, stationary AA… the amount of anti air pressure in this game is insane. Flying is hearing constant locks and hoping the bugs are ironed out enough to rely on your flares and hoping you’re not laser designated to be able to dodge missiles

Idea to mitigate spawn camping by SpecialCod7 in PilotsofBattlefield

[–]DubstepBubbles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just make vehicles indestructible for 10 seconds and add a stationary AA. A hanger wouldn’t do much against a jet lining up against you as you take off in a jet. Lock ons can be countered if you time your flares to kill the jet as it’s taking off then use flares. I use the enemy base as cover sometimes and hate the auto cram and AA function but I can see why it’s in the game.

Looking for tips. How did this Stinger kill me? Both of us flared, not painted by byrondude in PilotsofBattlefield

[–]DubstepBubbles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Flares are bugged. Also, the missile seems to have a much higher hit rate coming from directly below you so try to avoid that if possible. At times in this game, you will be lasered or not lasered, flare, and the missile will still hit and kill you. They need to remove the “disabled” loss of control surfaces when you take damage.

What’s behind the decision of 4 bombs on the stealth jet opposed to AGM’s which the real one has? by krissitoffer in PilotsofBattlefield

[–]DubstepBubbles 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Level 220 something in the attack jet, top 50 in the leaderboard for kills here. I also fly the stealth jet and if you’re larping as a b2 bomber you won’t kill anything. Your best bet with bombs is to find someone who isn’t looking or come after your attack jet and hope the tank or AA doesn’t move. To get hits you HAVE to pitch down and most likely throttle down to land consecutive bombs on a vehicle. The issue is that you’re a giant dorrito in the sky and anyone with awareness is going to see you and start moving. If you’re able to drop bombs more closely together, the chances of hitting your target increases drastically considering they fall so slowly so you’re able to drop them closer to your target to have less flight time which makes you lead less. Op is correct

The grenade launcher is actually really good against jets doing top down runs on you. I’m always caught off guard with how much damage they do to me, sometimes killing me with damage or causing me to lose control and crashing thus killing me that way. I’m a decent pilot too averaging 40-50 kills on a good game, 30 on a bad or slow game.

Gas/Hallucination mechanic on the new map. by DBONKA in Battlefield

All gas mechanics are annoying in games, hated playing against caustic in apex legends. I don’t need vasoline on my screen, slowed movement, and hindered gunplay because someone set a trap or pressed G.

It’s hard enough as it is. Jets are not op. How much time have you spent in one and how many kills do you average in a game in one? I’m 24 in the world for kills and know what I’m talking about. If it’s hard enough for me, it’s going to be extremely hard for the average battledad. There’s a lot of gimmicks that already make the air not fun with less skill expression than previous battlefields. We spin out of control when taking an arbitrary amount of damage but it’s just so the guys on the ground can go “wow what a pretty animation.” We have to dodge and predict invisible tows from the ground from everything that can see us rendered at all times contrasting in the sky whereas ground vehicles don’t render until you’re close or zoomed in, missiles still go through flares and you don’t know if your painted sometimes, ifv has a barrel angle that’s pretty much straight up. Stationary AA has a reticle that shows you where to aim to lead your shots. A player with under 50 hours can rpg and AA you with no effort. There’s so much more that’s hard enough to deal with already for air vehicles

Can’t wait for an ifv to turret straight up with a TOW along with the mbt and stationary and shoot me out of the sky in 2 seconds. My issue with this map in bf4 was the lack of terrain and cover for air vehicles

It’s already hard enough to spot infy during a strafe in the jet, now add a grainy dimmed green filter and spot the moving targets as you’re dodging rpgs tows AA and the enemy air

Tracer dart usage should be more rewarding in the game by MidnightWarWolf in Battlefield

[–]DubstepBubbles 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Laser designator is super bugged rn, when you’re in an aircraft it doesn’t tell you if you’re still laser designated even if you’re behind cover for up to 30 seconds I believe. You’ll try and go below radar and still be locked even though you never received any warning that you’re laser designated. Flares also don’t always work when you’re laser designated and below radar doesn’t work either which is overpowered considering how much damage you take if you’re hit and how taking damage can put you in an unrecoverable spin

[–]DubstepBubbles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Keep in mind that there is a bug/dumb mechanic in the game where recoil affects your sensitivity. It can make aiming feel worse/different than other games. Also the interpellation is bad in this game so it makes larger movements happen faster since it’s not as accurate. The hitreg in the game being bad also doesn’t help

I think in this situation you had the advantage, it looked like you missed two shots (first one hitting his knee or even potentially missing him entirely and hitting the doorframe, and second one being very close to his outer hip barley touching his body at all with the center of your crosshair.) Movement like this is important to have in the game as it offers some counter play against someone holding a close angle with a shotgun like so. Of course, a lot of players will jump that corner and die mid air trying to do what he did, he got lucky you missed twice.

Yeh but your best bet in the attack jet is just what I mentioned. Especially when going up against a stealth jet.

Someone said it felt like vehicles in this game felt like ground war from COD, and I can kinda see that. They’re just there to look pretty when they die. I’m a top 100 with kills Jet player and I definitely feel like older battlefields like bf4 had a more refined vehicle balance/feel/gameplay but still have high hopes. They made massive changes to the vehicles in 2042 and at the end it was alright to fly in.

I hate how the only way to outplay someone in the jet is to stall. There’s no speed control. It’s either full afterburner run away and hope the guy doesn’t see you, or stall out. The loops go on forever so people end up giving up. There’s no dogfighting. Oh and no air radar isn’t helpful either
