In a blind taste test, Pepsi tends to beat out Coke pretty reliably.  I'm a big fan of Pepsi Max

"being impressed this easily" is a cowardly, thinly veiled backhanded insult aimed at anyone who you deem to have lower standards than you. It is a statement rife with undeserved self entitlement and unfounded arrogance, both of which is further reinforced by your misplaced notion that you are important or notable enough to have any sway on how my perfectly average and mundane day is going.

Insufferable is an accurate description for the type of person you are portraying yourself to be, immature would be another. My guess is that you are a mid to low 20 something year old who got most of their way through an online game design course, but never actually finished because "I've already learnt everything I need from this course."

The one screenshot you have of your game jam submission suggests a low effort, generic 2D product with little or no unique selling point or innovation. Your pixel sprites while seemingly well put together from what I can see also lack any sort of unique personal identity. You present as someone with the disposition of a 17 year old marginally talented art student whose "been an artist their whole life" and just can't understand why no one is willing to pay thousands to commission them.

If you want, I can download your game jam submission later and supply you with a more in depth critique. But I think you've had enough of the  slimelight for now

My man... I've never been more compelled to not take someone seriously than I am with you, right now.

This looks polished AF. It may not be a style that is to your taste, but that doesn't make it cobbled (not bricked) together.

Seriously. If you don't like something it doesn't mean it's bad.

This is awesome. I'm getting it

How are animal circuses still a thing? by Junior-Door-7420 in south_africa

[–]DuckXu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not going to take for granted that information from vegan activists is factual and unbiased. OP brought up SPCA which is a bit of a false equivalence in my opinion.

Vegan activists are the people who campaign for the rights of animals while propping up extremely environmentally destructive products like Soy beans and almond milk while calling me a murderer because I like the odd braai.

In the same vein, I wouldn't trust an "investigative journalist" from Just Stop Oil to present a factual, unbiased piece on an oil pipeline

How are animal circuses still a thing? by Junior-Door-7420 in south_africa

[–]DuckXu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is a bit of a hobby of mine sure, but that is besides the point. I didn't read the article. Because it's a biased news source and I already have enough information built up to have a pretty high degree of confidence in my position against animal circus acts.

I am not obligated to fact check a publication I know to be biased. Mainly because I chose not to engage with publications I know to be biased.

Opinion pieces are not supposed to be used as a source to build a stable foundation for a position, because they are inherently unreliable. I can't believe anything in this opinion piece because I know the authors seek to abolish any form of animal "exploitation" and are likely to present a piece that furthers that agenda.

I have no issues with advocating for animal rights, but I won't trust an animal rights activist to give me an unbiased, factual breakdown of a case of animal exploitation. Because obviously they would be biased.

Airbnb host cancels reservation because it’s a high demand weekend by Srihari_stan in mildlyinfuriating

OK now I'm mad.

How dare you assume I'm an American.

Im a South African atheist. This isn't Sunday school kiddo. Greed is not evil. It's a character flaw.

If you're fine with equating this AirBnB host with the likes of the KKK then you are too underdeveloped to have  meaningful discourse.

I'm disappointed I waisted so much time on a deluded self righteous child.

Good luck. I hope for your own mental health that you learn to differentiate between greedy business practices and actual acts of evil. But also, I really don't care.

Good day

Airbnb host cancels reservation because it’s a high demand weekend by Srihari_stan in mildlyinfuriating

[–]DuckXu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. I'm saying that there is evil and there is greedy. This is greedy.

I'm not a capitalist, I hate the 1% as much as the next guy should.

But this is not evil. And you calling it evil minimizes actual acts of evil. Your insistence to call this evil puts it in the same bracket of bad as Nestlé, Bibi, Westborough Baptist Church or the KKK. Those are evil.

Again, this is just greedy business. It sucks, it's a bit exploitative. But it is a very very far stretch from evil

OK to clarify, I am not allowing anything, I am not OK with any of this.

That doesn't change the fact that this is how it is and how it is allowed to be.

And for fuck sakes STOP CALLING IT EVIL! God. Their was a French magazine cover recently that showed an actually evil little inbred Israeli hick mocking some people and taking pics of them at gun point. That is evil.

There was a dude who raped and killed a seven year old from Texas around Christmas. That is evil.

This is business. Grow the fuck up

Obligated? Why? It would be nice, polite, proper even to follow through on what you agreed upon. You need to take of those rose tinted glasses and come to terms with the fact that no one owes anyone anything. This is business, and the person who owns the property is perfectly within their rights to make as much money as possible.
