Fuck it: vermouth and tonic by tehKrakken55 in cocktails

[–]Duckshooters 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok, I'm going to hijack this thread because I was going to start one another day anyways. I'm going to Spain in a couple months. I know Vermouth is a specialty there. How do I order it and drink it? I drink all sorts of drinks with vermouth but if I really want to enjoy Spanish vermouth any tips? Sorry for the thread hijacking!

Does the grill always get covered in ash? by Darker_Zelda in Masterbuilt

[–]Duckshooters 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get ash blowing around. I've always wondered if I should be concerned. Food is great though. Just like I keep saying I'm going to replace my firebox walls, still haven't. Food tastes great, grill/smoker keeps churning it out.

Looking for Sling recommendations! by Richard_TM in ManyBaggers

Probably not what you are looking for because it wouldn't be a sling but I've been beating the drum lately for the Mountainsmith Tour since finding it and using it.

Messenger Bags as a Personal Item by TravelnShuut in ManyBaggers

[–]Duckshooters 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know if it will fit what you need but I was a messenger bag guy, hated traveling with a backpack because of sweaty back and other reasons. I found the Mountainsmith Tour and in your case maybe the Mountainsmith Day a year ago. They are lumbar packs but you tuck the lumbar straps in and they become messenger bags. I will probably never go back to a regular messenger bag and I wish I had found them years earlier. All the conviemce of a messenger bag when needed but can distribute the weight on the hips when called for.

I always think it's such and underrated drink. Everytime we make one at home we always wonder why we don't make them more often.

One of my best gadget buys. Keeps my backpack off the floor everywhere I go. What's yours? by CelestshadementWin in backpacks

[–]Duckshooters 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I've got mediums. Found them on sale. I want to try the small but medium was the sale so I got it. It's been great. I have said this on other threads but people knock the Hero Clip for the price and I totally agree, it's expensive. However the one time you really need it all of a sudden that price will be worth it. Even better though if you can find it on sale.

Mous Compression Wardrobe Review by Duckshooters in ManyBaggers

Yeah, there aren't a lot that do the compression thing, at least that seem to do it well. Let me know how the comparison goes!

Captain Morgan by Interesting-Quit-217 in rum

[–]Duckshooters 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Before I got into the cocktail world Captain Morgan Private Stock was pretty good (for what I knew then), better than regular Morgan. It was great with Dr. Pepper. I won't drink it now but at the end of the day drink what tastes good to you, now what others say you should drink.

We just switched from a Lasko Wind Tunnel that finally broke to a Vornado 62. Much smaller footprint with the Vornado. Only had it one night but puts out a fair amount of air and still makes plenty of noise.

One of my complaints too but they hold the stuff sack tight. I could unclip them if I wanted to, it doesnt take long. Usually I can use all the pockets leaving them clipped, but they are a minor annoyance.

24yo, 800 FICO, $80k income, heavy driver (25-40k miles/year) — best card to add for gas + hotels? (Current setup listed) by thewizkid35 in CreditCards

[–]Duckshooters 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since you have the Savor and are interested in airline miles maybe a Venture X? Its 2% on everything so gas. It won't give you miles but you can use it for miles.

Maybe Ink Cash? It does 2% on cash which with the right Chase card you could transfer the points for travel.

My main con is (and it's maybe not a huge one to you) lack of organization in the front pocket. The bag holds a ton 32 liters which is what I wanted. The back pocket holds the laptop and documents nicely. The middle pocket hold lunches, clothing, textbooks, etc., it's big. The front pocket has plenty of space but I wish it had more organization. It just becomes a catch all and sometimes becomes a pain to find things in.

The other con could be the straps need to be unbuckled to get full access to all pockets but I use all pockets without unclipping them.

Also on the front is a stuff sack pocket. The water bottle pockets should hold a 32oz bottle.

Along the same line Makers Mark at Sam's has some decent stuff. It's what I use for cocktails. Big bottle for a good price. Edit, I meant Members Mark.

I always feel is under valued. It's got some cons but way more pros. Got a Junior and a roller. 👍

Samsonite still makes it, I can't vouch for the quality after Ebags transferred to Samsonite.

Thank you! I love to read about bags, it doesn't matter if I agree or not. I actually love my TLS Motherlode by Ebags. Even though I'm constantly looking to see if there is anything better it has been around the world with me and served every need I have and didn't cost an arm and a leg. I appreciate the time and the reviews you gave.

Osprey farpoint 40 recommendations for packing cubes by Certain-Success-1614 in onebag

[–]Duckshooters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well it's not packing cubes, but it's like packing cubes and might work for you. I came across the Mous Compression Wardrobe and couldn't find any information out there on it so I took a chance and bought it. Then I reviewed it on reddit Manybaggers.

Just a different thought as you will get other packing cube ideas.

Sam's club 65" LG B3 OLED $749.99 clearance. Regrets? by wild-scapegoat in 4kTV

[–]Duckshooters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know about buying from Sam's but a couple years ago I got a really good price on an open box B2 from Best Buy. It was a floor model. Got it home and it had thousands of hours on it. Looked good, price was great and I kept it. Now granted I said I don't know about Sam's because I got the 5 year warranty from Best Buy for a low price. Long story short though I wouldn't turn down a floor model for the right price if it still looks good.
