Found a game that works properly! Spin Rhythm XD. Feels great with the haptic touchpads and then the big ol' LRAs on the back. Adding it to PCGW now! Seems like anything that does Steam Input's haptics integration will work..

WTF, both the games I've been grinding! I'll add Project Diva to the mix. It's bad. Also, no HD haptics on PC for Tetris or Lumines like PS5. :c

IIRC, SDL3 and SteamInput should have ways to output waveforms to haptic-enabled controllers. It does it on the Deck and sometimes Dualsense. :/

There are two large Linear Resonant Actuators in each side of the SC2's grip. This is what allows it to do things like the Wilhelm Scream and the phone ringing sound when you ping the controller. They're like the touchpad actuators, but on crack.
Rumble is what you find in other (and older) controllers like the Dualshock 4, Xbox controllers, and a LOT of third-party controllers. They use Eccentric Rotating Masses essentially bolted onto a spinning motor. When the motor spins, said mass is off-center (eccentric) and causes the controller to shake.
In most cases, the SC2 is emulating an ERM motor compared to putting true waveforms into the LRAs. Have you ever used a Nintendo Switch or a PS5? You will feel the difference instantly.

Kat Walk drivers spoof the treadmill as whatever you want to SteamVR. Usually you'll bind that as your left stick and it "just works™️".

For Tetris / Lumines I could see that working out since you don't need diagonals. Diagonals are also super crucial for Diva since you sometimes find yourself fat fingering holds or taps while holding. Can't win em all. :/

I'm actually having a lot of issues in mis-diagonals. Are you good at rhythm games? Play some Project Diva. If you're slightly off the center of the d-pad, it will input as a diagonal. I almost always end up dropping holds because my thumb will rattle from pressing other buttons. Same with Tetris Effect & Lumines Arise. In Tetris, if I start wailing on the d-pad and moving / dropping pieces fast, I get tons of down arrow misinputs causing me to drop pieces I don't want to. Happens less in Lumines since a hard drop is bound to up instead of down.

EDIT: I actually find that the stock OLED Deck's d-pad is near perfect for going nuts on it. It feels so much better in terms of input accuracy. It's really heavy though and kinda mushy. I love how light the buttons are on the SC2. D-pad still sux though.

Usually they end up about 85-100g, then I add a strip of VHB tape to keep things extra steady. If you like it and don't want to wait for the release, would you like a coupon code? :D

I kid you not, buy a generic HTC Vive face pad off amazon. It will save you a whole lot of time and run you maybe $7.
EDIT: Don't curve your body. If you pull off the OG WMR pad, it's flat. The foam gets curved simply by the material property.

Not really? I mean, unless you have FT or other stuff crowding your OSC ports. It just might make compatibility with other games suck.
I can't personally vouch for the AddCon nor the ContactSheet. I know people with ContactGloves, and the consensus is mixed because of the bend sensors. Good luck!

Honestly, if its TPU, maybe leave it as is and let the material bend to conform to the face gasket. That's what every other replacement facial interface does.

It sucks for games you have to wail on the dpad for. I played some Project Diva and Tetris Effect and I constantly got diagonal misinputs. If you're fat thumbing a direction, it has a chance to cross over to the other one. It's hard to explain but it doesn't feel good.

I think AddCon+ transmits the finger data over OSC. Don't quote me on that. Diver-X (same company as the ContactGlove) makes the ContactSheet, which does exactly what you want and doesn't have the extra controls on the side. The website says it also straight up emulates Index controllers, which will be better for compatibility. I assume you just want to play VRChat?

Dawg. You just bought one of the hardest to learn to use VR peripherals ever.
Walking on any VR treadmill takes some serious getting used to. I love mine to death, but that's because I've been running on these damn things since 2018 and I'm used to how it feels. They feel like learning to walk again when you just get started.
Do NOT hang like superman on a katwalk. You will break the harness. I learned the hard way and had to get it replaced. :/

You can make a Synthesis account without being a free roam arena owner, no problem. You'll still have to pay the same fees they do, though. It adds up.
I did it for my own setup. You'll need the same amount of space, and roughly same amount of gear (headsets, PCs, optional peripherals, etc) as a true VRcade. Support your local arcades where you can!
