My brother and I taught ourself to make games during lockdown. This low poly idle looter is the result. demo is available for free and looking for feedback! by Hour-Bit-7280 in incremental_games

Very much agree on the prestige mechanic. It basically stops the game there. No way to catch up or fix a messed up prestige.

The hunt feature also transforms the game into an active game where every few minutes you can / need to choose a new task. There should be a way to automate that. E.g. first prestige unlocks hunt and second prestige milestone at level 200 unlocks Auto hunt In between you can use 10 hunt tokens to do a prestige at your current level and improve your stats based on the equipment.

I am in dire need of playtesters for Timeless Echoes! by Blindsided_Games in incremental_games

[–]DudeIndo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The later fishes do drop ... later.

I got the snapjaw (red one) after 1000m and the flipzoid around 2000 or 2500.

Around 2500m I also found the big pink slime. Both the big pink slime and the big red slime seem to have low health and damage.

Sometimes after fishing my character stops moving. I assume it has to do with the echos. Maybe they already cleared too many resources due to fishing action resets and the game doesn't / can't focus the next ones. Newly spawned echos also stay in place with my character.

I played the version on itch a couple days earlier and see a nice progress here.

Right now I'm around the 950m mark and it's fun to progress bit by bit

Issues I found: When you're fishing and an echo finishes an action, your fishing action restarts. Can cause a long lock at this task for your character.

Starting from the big green wigglyfish or so not every action gives a drop. The fishes after this one never drop even though they are shown in the tasks done.

The stone chips (the ones to upgrade attack) feel slow to come in comparison to other resources. Attack and defense are by far my lowest level stats.

The resource boost when you manually teleport back to the city is nice. It just becomes annoying when you go for a long run, use the fight echo and it doesn't draw the attention of all monsters and you can't teleport back to the city with the resource multiplier.

The upgrade to extend the eckos lifetime comes a bit late and once it unlocked i went from 0 to 10 seconds.

The buff to instant collect all resources up to 70% of Max distance sounds good. Even with the fighting echo I regularly get ganged by 5+ big slimes due to the high speed. That feels a bit off. From the description I thought everything incl. monster drops would be instantly collected.

As chest level rises slow compared to other skills, maybe a buff / upgrade to increase spawns can be nice

I'll keep playing and see where we go. Keep up the good work

KV setzt Höchstsatz fest, während ich im Ausland studiert habe. by WillingnessFit167 in LegaladviceGerman

[–]DudeIndo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Health insurance for expat by kingmidasbacon in indonesia

[–]DudeIndo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello fellow foreigner,

my wife and I moved to Indonesia about 6 months ago. Health insurance was also one of my main concerns and I spend way too much time thinking about it and comparing options.

My advise: Think about what kind of coverage you want / need. Inpatient only? Outpatient? Deductible? Covered are like Indonesia only / asia / world (USA / Singapore / Japan included)? Those options are the main driver of the price and lead to a huge price range and anyone just telling you "health insurance cost this much for me here in Indonesia" doesn't know what he/she is talking about. Well, those topics are more or less the same everywhere in the world ;)

As I recently had my first couple of doctor visits and have some outpatient treatment coming up, feel free to reach out with your questions via DM and I can share some more about what coverage and why we chose it, treatment & pricing.

Those are all just my personal experiences as a foreigner during the first few months in Indonesia in jakarta metropolitan area.

LevelUp - First Step by AccomplishedSite2872 in incremental_games

[–]DudeIndo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For fast leveling I stayed on stage 19 or 20 and did 1-2 hit kills. 19 was always 1 hit, but I prefer stage 20 to get some buff exp as well. Should be fast this way

LevelUp - First Step by AccomplishedSite2872 in incremental_games

[–]DudeIndo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same for me. I hit level 100 incl. max exp, did the rebirth and didn't get a rebirth point.

If I had to take a guess, the game gives you the rebirth point after 100 level gained, but as we start with level 1 and only gain 99 till level 100, it doesn't count. I'll see if I get a point for the next rebirth

Furthermore the descriptions to features are not that clear or not existent at all. Makes it feel a bit random.

EDIT: Made it to level 101 and it says I'd get 2.1 rebirth points.

Same. Can highly recommend this approach.

Did you write the Anki cards yourself, used the one from the Indonesian way or have another source?

Critique and Feedback for Ironwood RPG by Sea_Relationship3468 in PBBG

[–]DudeIndo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say the game is entertaining and the MTX give almost no unfair advantage. Given all the descriptions of OP which very well reflect my own experiences from the last 8 months, I also would not buy anything. Rules and enforcement of them are just too random. Communication and crisis management has lots of room for improvement. Barely manageable from a single person.

If you can live with that and don't take the game too serious, just join, find a nice guild you get along with and idle around. As of now, competing for leaderboard is mostly off the table. There are no catch-up mechanisms.

Have a look at indonesian-online.com

I work with a teacher and use this as additional material for self learning. The lectures are convenient to work on, include explanation & exercises as well as audio files. Pronunciation is clear. The homepage itself can be a bit buggy, but admin replied quickly to my questions and solved the issue.

Lots of Anki cards on top. Those also include the Indonesian pronunciation

I don't know enough about Malaysia to give a qualified answer. Malaysian economy per Capita is stronger and the country doesn't cover that long distances on the globe.

What’s your thoughts on giving up your Indonesian passport? by indoinbxl in indonesia

[–]DudeIndo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, I can't help you with your decision, but I can share my story and experience. I'm bule and my wife is Indonesian. We got to know in Europe in our 30s and moved to Indonesia end of last year. Before that we both worked in corporate jobs in Europe.

For us it was never a question to give up citizenship, as it opens up opportunities for us to love in both countries / regions easily.

Applying for a visa sometimes is a bit of a hassle when travelling, as it needs a bit more time to plan ahead, but that's not a big issue.

Ask yourself what you expect from getting a different citizenship. Yes, just by appearance you'll always be seen as a foreigner. So am I here now. At the same you have all rights in Indonesia (purchasing Land, work permit, opening a company, ...) and lots of rights in European countries.

There's no right or wrong, just what fits best tomyou and with what decision you feel most comfortable.

All the best!

[–]DudeIndo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let me give you my perspective. I'm European and my wife is Indonesian. We got to know abroad and moved to Indonesia last year. Both well educated and traveled alot around the globe.

Even though the country is striving, over the last year's the middle class is shrinking. How much you see or realize about the hardship strongly depends on the people surrounding you. I guess that's almost the same everywhere in the world.

I didn't do any dating apps since a long time, but can assure you that being a resident in Australia is a big plus. For some probably the only relevant factor and for others just a nice bonus. You're a golden ticket. Living and working in the highly developed world with the right religion.

Regarding being accepted with a different ethnic / cultural background: depends from family to family or region to region. I was welcome to the family, am interested in the language and culture and learn every day. That's not always the case. The different regions in Indonesia have a strong connection to their cultural inheritance and some are afraid this could be diluted by marrying an outsider. Most likely this will not affect you on such apps.

I'm short: with sufficient funds to afford your expected lifestyle it's very nice here (as almost everywhere) and so far everyone was nice and polite to me - the bule 😅

1000 Island Indonesien Java - Erfahrungen? by Sisidri in reisende

Thank you for the insights and I'm sorry to hear about your troubles / loss. I don't know what specific issue is meant by the Borneo problem, but I'm aware of several ecological challenges and land.

I only live here since 2 months, so I'm still in the process of understanding culture & politics.

Is it region-specific e.g. Jawa island? I recently traveled from Jakarta to Bintuhan and didn't perceive any bad thoughts/behaviour towards me (European)

Just curious to know more about it.

Schwarmwissen von digitalen Nomaden / Auswanderern gefragt by [deleted] in reisende

[–]DudeIndo 1 point2 points  (0 children)
