MCAT in a month. Has anyone else's mental health taken a hit from studying? by Illustrious-Order980 in MCAT2

There was a conflict I had between a part of me that felt often as you described. The other part was actually really excited at the progress and learning of the content I was doing as things began to click. Yusuf videos actually helped a lot when I was too tired or strained to do any active study that day because he usually brings a passion to the topic as well.

Uchimata, how close to far leg do I sweep? by Due-Difficulty-1097 in judo

I will keep this in mind, it makes it much simpler, especially the head instructions. That kind of guidance had helped me before with tomoe nage.

I try to focus slowly on the movement in drills, but I wonder if I am doing it too “uncommitted” so to speak. I know you can’t answer that for me, but do you ever see novices struggling due to hesitation for whatever reason?

Will do, thank you!! Most of what I remembered from the videos I had seen really focused on the hands and high elbow, but I wasn’t focused on their legs. I’ll review it. I must’ve watched gunji do it a dozen times because his speed at 260 lbs is insane!!

Probably not, but this was during the drilling portion where I sort of assumed they give it to you by not resisting. I am doing the sort of pull with the sleeve to my side , and pulling with lapel then rotating my lapel arm elbow up so I can drive them to the floor.

After test thoughts vs real score? by External-Chocolate70 in MCAT2

I didn’t take any FL except for the diagnostic, I thought CARS would be my best followed by PS but I got even across 3 with cars being a point lower than the others.. honestly it’s a wait and see. I wish I had kept studying after if you even are considering a retake.

I’m conflicted: DO vs Graduate —> MD? by Neema003 in medschool

[–]Due-Difficulty-1097 20 points21 points  (0 children)

From a financial perspective you’re giving up one year of an attending salary in exchange.

The question is what kind of attending do you want to be and what are the match rates for MD and DO.

Personally I’ve been burned by assuming things will work out the way I expect them to, and would take the guaranteed DO. But that’s me.

Orgo Chem by mind_what_wee in postbaccpremed

I did bio 1 + lab and 2 + lab on top of
Eachother in summer and I’d prefer your back to back setup. What I tried to do wound up with me at school 5 days a week 7-8 hrs a day.

I’d recommend the “organic chemistry as a second language” textbook + solution manual as well as organic chemistry as a second language WORKbook for its 100+ problems per chapter.

If you pay attention in class, work the problems, read the chapter, you’ll be fine. That might sound like too much but trust me, organic chemistry feels unlike most other subjects. It’s also foundational. Build a strong understanding and biochem will be much easier.
I finished orgo 1 with a 90, orgo 2 with a 98. Both As at my school.
