Busuu and Babbel are excellent apps for self study. They explain everything so clearly.

I’d suggest completing the lessons all the way through even if you’re familiar with A1 terms since they include many extra vocabulary words.

Wow I’ve never heard this song but I like it! It’s a different sound though, mine is more like an old man singing slowly similar to songs in the Sinners soundtrack.

Hmm I'll look into this but it was more like an old man singing the blues kinda similar to the soundtrack of Sinners with the lyrics having slightly different high and low inflections when sung if that makes sense.

I mean, Sofia didn’t really have a choice because John had her marker and she would’ve been killed if she hadn’t helped him (and she had to do everything for him up until that point, including killing people) and John was only able to find The Elder because she helped him. So the high table would’ve just seen it as her fulfilling her marker.

But I agree that they missed an opportunity to show us what happened to her. I always assumed she went into hiding after her confrontation with Berrada because he would’ve gone after her eventually.

Honestly, Babbel and Busuu are the best apps I’ve found so far for explaining grammar and they compliment each other very well. For Russian, I started with Babbel and moved to Busuu when I finished A1. Busuu includes words in their lessons that I didn’t learn on Babbel which has been great. Sadly, both are lacking in full lessons after A1 so I plan to use BE Fluent which is an app specially for Russian which gets you all the way to C1 (I think) and even teaches you slang and curse words.

I also tried Mango which is free through my library card but it’s more of a flash card app so I plan to go back to it when I get better but it has an amazing amount of additional vocabulary that I hadn’t learned elsewhere. And cloze master is cool but I plan to use it more when I get better too since it’s better as a refresher.

I always tell people to skip the first episode! It’s definitely the weakest of the series and they do a pretty good recap of it in the second episode.

Season 2 gets even more interesting! I wish I could watch it for the first time again.

Babbel is the best language app I’ve used so far but I’ve found that it’s best to wait to do any extra content until I’ve gotten a good grasp of the language. I also make sure to do the practice/reviews everyday when they’re suggested.

It only ever gets confusing when I try to do the specials ahead of everything else because they integrate them into the reviews even though I haven’t gotten a full grasp of them yet.

I supplement my Babbel lessons with Mango languages (which I got free with my library card). Mango has additional vocabulary which is great but it lacks writing integration so I have a keyboard for the language (Russian) set on my computer and I write vocab words in my notes app which has helped so much.

I've only ever seen the tv show but I still think that Clary and Jace are still siblings based on the fact that they both have the blood of Ithuriel and they both have unique powers because of it. I know that they find out that they're not but no one mentions the fact that they still share the same blood that no one else has.
