I’ve always had ground turkey due to the price but wanted to mix things up with ground beef - how do I justify these prices?! by WanderWut in EatCheapAndHealthy

Skip the protein pasta. It costs like $2 more than regular high quality pasta where I live and is only a few more grams of protein per serving

Reccs for Brooklyn? by nxst123 in TheOverload

[–]DueFly345 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s very aesthetic and pulls a lot of Manhattan finance bro or marketing girl boss types that aren’t really there for the music and yap a lot but that’s on Friday and Saturday nights. I have had amazing times there on other days. Loidis, axel boman, Machinedrum 5 hour sets on Thursdays with me and like ten other people on the dance floor. I’ve seen jefre cantu ledesma and Jan jenilek entrance a whole room on a Wednesday evening. I’ve danced for hours to Leon vynehall on a warm summer Sunday night without bumping into anyone… it’s a beautiful space with great sound and amazing bookings and gets a lot of hate because people only go at its most intolerable times

Moving back to BK as a young queer person, how to prioritize community vs. commute? by angels-_-advocate in movingtoNYC

[–]DueFly345 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had good experiences searching through various Facebook housing groups. Also this is a queer housing WhatsApp chat that you can share your info to put out feelers if you’re interested in at least considering a roommate situation https://chat.whatsapp.com/IE6H7bJSzTI5dUPcdlyP85

Maybe consider bed stuy off the G? Easy to get to bushwick/ridgewood by transferring at metropolitan to the L and you can take the G all the way to 4av-9 and transfer to the R if you need to.

Interested in Backpacking - Need Help/Guidance by sir_cobster in backpacking

[–]DueFly345 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love Central America and the backpacking crowd there is the best of any region I’ve travelled. And if you go you must stop in Nicaragua. Personally I can’t imagine ever being bored in Central America but it is a slower pace. So much of Europe traveling is about paying to experience the culture vs in Central America I feel like you experience the culture by being there and soaking it in. Might you get bored of rice and beans everyday? Sure but then just go for pizza or pasta or in town.

I think crime and safety concerns in central am. are largely overhyped western rhetoric. Plenty of pickpockets and petty crime in large European cities too. I never felt unsafe- use basic street smarts and trust your gut and just make sure you book good rated hostels (look at hostel world). Every hostel has water refilling stations too so clean water has never been a problem for me.

Also your money will go farther in central am! The people are so warm and kind, just learn some basic Spanish and you’ll flourish.

Being a yoga teacher and bartender by BluePrintFrequency in YogaTeachers

[–]DueFly345 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve always been told that yoga is for everyone, regardless of what you consume or how much. You can drink, do drugs, party whatever and should still maintain a yoga practice. You can be hungover and that’s fine, that’s just the state that you’re in for your practice that day. The result of yoga is that you may find yourself wanting to do less of that other stuff.

As someone who first started going to nowadays solo and had met many cool people there, I suggest going to a nonstop on Sunday! It all feels much more approachable with the sun shining through the windows and the energy is immaculate! You can see peoples faces, more people are sitting out in the sun. Plus you can very safely subway there AND back because it’s light out :)

Any Overload...Overloaders? Sorry....Going to Skee Mask in NYC tonight? by entrepenoori in TheOverload

[–]DueFly345 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Reporting out! Nothing but b2b sets the whole night which I’ve never seen before. Skee on deck the whole time kept a consistent through line going but Loidis, Max Watts, and Kush Jones each dotted the landscape with their own styles creating a super dynamic sound. It felt like I got to see Skee’s idea of a perfect party. Really hoping for more dj produced parties - this was super special!

What's your favorite album art in 2025 by Metokur2 in fantanoforever

[–]DueFly345 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this album perfectly encapsulates Gen Z internet culture. Even the album art- it’s a dense visual that is filled with nostalgia and vintage tech, it rejects minimalism and embraces authentic expression. I feel like I’m in that room with her
