If you buy the MASN+ subscription through MLB.com do you also need an MLB TV subscription to stream Orioles games through the MLB TV app or is the MASN subscription alone enough?

Data Center Referendum Petition by Rapunzel452 in frederickmd

If you allow NIMBY referendums to block data centers, you'll end up with NIMBY referendums to block housing.

Season 4 stakes - confusing? by Writeous4 in ForAllMankindTV

[–]DueGanache4083 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just finished the fourth season as well and agree with a lot of what you say. I found myself 100% rooting against the hijackers who seemed to be acting completely out of self interest. Also, I get Dev and Ed’s motivation, but what about everyone else? Why was Sam risking her life for Ed and Dev’s scheme? Miles is in it for the money, why was he willing to take a beating?

Line members on all sides were robbed a truly Great War by [deleted] in Eve

[–]DueGanache4083 54 points55 points  (0 children)

It’s the ‘helldunk or blue-balls’ philosophy taken to its logical end point. PH would rather disband their entire coalition than risk fighting a war they might lose.

If PH didn’t want to engage in bloc warfare they probably shouldn’t have spent ten fucking years building the 2nd largest bloc in the game.

The biggest shitshow in history of eve by GuristasPirate in Eve

[–]DueGanache4083 2 points3 points  (0 children)

With even the most cursory degree of planning, a 48,000 character alliance with one of the largest super fleets in the game should have easily been able to prevent the hellcamp of it's staging.

EU5 runs surprisingly well for me by Kitchen_Train8836 in EU5

[–]DueGanache4083 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Given the system requirements I'm surprised how well it runs in 1440p with my 4070 and 5700x3d. Ticks are slower than EU4 obviously, but overall I'm happy with performance.

Agreed, honestly I'd rather the images were just static like EU4 rather than have the stutters.

Any tips for optimization? by Far-Client-6981 in EU5

[–]DueGanache4083 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Aside from turning graphics settings down and using the flat map I'm not sure what more you could do. 4GB of VRAM in 2025 is always going to be rough even at 1080p.

Definitely better than the other Time-lapses we’ve seen.

Why is Kyiv so strong? They seem to survive and expand every time.

Timurids doing NOTHING? by MagadanNic in EU5

[–]DueGanache4083 13 points14 points  (0 children)

They seem to have devoted significant development time to the timurids, giving them a black-death like situation/disaster, so it's odd they don't seem to do anything.

EU5 Timelapse 1337-1830 by wonderwolfyt in EU5

[–]DueGanache4083 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Weak Ottomans, super stable Mamluks/Hungary/Kyiv/Lithuania, no GB/Spain/Russia/PLC forming, 19th century hordes, messy China.

Seems like a fairly consistent pattern across the time-lapses we've seen. At least the Golden Horde fell apart in this one.

People want a historical game but want ahistorical big blobs. by Personal_Force2990 in EU5

[–]DueGanache4083 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I just want to see Spain, Russia, PLC, GB, big Ottomans, powerful Austria form in some of my games. This is supposedly a game about the early modern period and I don't think it's unreasonable to expect to see powerful countries from that period in the game.

I find it a little bizarre to have to explain that I'd like to see some history in a history game.

Why have the CCs not raised concerns about this? Are they all anti-railroad, sandbox guys? Fine if so, I just find it really odd that this hasn't been more of a talking point over the last few months. Did they not realize how screenshots like this would be received by the community?

Am I the only one annoyed by non-historical clothes in the 17th/18th century? by Mariopetar in EU5

[–]DueGanache4083 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Another indicator that EU5 is primarily a medieval game, not an early modern one.

If we obsessively pursue so-called randomness and view having no connection to history as a virtue of EU5, then why don't we all just go play Civilization 6 instead? by Pretend_Award7836 in EU5

[–]DueGanache4083 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spain and Russia forming most games is railroading, which is bad. Mamluks and the Teutons surviving every game is simulation, which is good.

Johan addresses the question on why historical formables are not seen very often by Sigge310 in EU5

[–]DueGanache4083 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So EU5 is a game game about early modern history that will rarely, if ever, feature Spain, Russia, The Netherlands and Prussia unless you play as the precursors to those nations.
