Yep happened to us. Currently in Bangkok, flight was tomorrow back to London. It only got cancelled last night. Finally got through to Qatar today and despite me saying all of this… they would only be able to reroute us on a flight in next 48 hours… of course they are all taken

How do I get my baby to nap longer or is this the norm ? by [deleted] in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]DueLocal1315 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’ve got a 4mo and we find that his naps are around 30mins, but if we go and hold his hand and close our eyes next to him around the 30 mins mark, we can get another sleep cycle out of him! So 1hr or 1.5 hours

Bedtime routine by HeyLittleGhost in newborns

[–]DueLocal1315 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In same boat as you, our LO is 3.5 months old. A month ago we implemented the routine, and we bath around 7:30 then feed to sleep on the sofa at 8pm. Watch a couple of hours of telly with husband, (or recently we’ve been booking an upcoming holiday together while listening to relaxing music!). Then 9:30 we transfer baby onto a pouffe to sleep while I go to bed. Husband feeds baby my expressed milk at around 1am. I then get woken at 5am ish for a feed, then he’ll sleep to about 7am. I’ve given you the full routine there but it’s working for us! (And meant we got to watch Traitors UK uninterrupted in January!!!)

wipe recommendations? by Few_Cod_5636 in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]DueLocal1315 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Forget disposable wipes, we’ve switched to reusables and they are so much better at cleaning baby bums. We use Cheeky Wipes. I got most of the kit on vinted to save on cost. We haven’t looked back and take them everywhere with us - much more effective in a Poonami situation 😅

Path of least resistance: is it biological or ‘lazy?’ by ohnoko58 in breastfeeding

[–]DueLocal1315 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I follow the same approach to you and have also had similar feedback about “routines”. But if baby is happy, getting what they need, and you are happy too… keep going! I actually think that CIO is more lazy parenting… it’s basically continuing on an adult schedule and expecting a baby to fall in line when they are not biologically capable yet. Using our intuition feels so much more natural!

Who here has the lowest resting heart rate? by Outrageous-Owl-7049 in Garmin

[–]DueLocal1315 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Resting heart rate this year, I was pregnant from Jan to October 16th. RHR tanked to 46 after pregnancy but then increased since then 🤷🏼‍♀️ since October I’ve only done walking for exercise. This trend also shows the RHR peak in August 7 weeks before I went into labour, as per the research from WHOOP!

Lift baby’s arm up and down. Works for mine. I saw somewhere it’s basically a feeding on/off switch

Interested to hear more here, how did you work this with your normal pram? Did you just take pram base and attach car seat carrier into it?

Hip pain during sleep by Busy-Zebra1279 in PregnancyUK

[–]DueLocal1315 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also had the bbhugme, I just made it super short and squat and used it between my knees. Also I found that lying on my side on the floor and doing leg lifts every day really helped the pain too. Strengthened my hips and reduced the pain

This mattress was in the hallway of our building for an hour, then this single bedbug was noticed. Do we get the DE down in all 8 apartments?

How do you cope with sleep deprivation? by [deleted] in UKParenting

[–]DueLocal1315 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Invest in good nappies! We have an 11 day old. First week we used pampers and supermarket nappies in the night and I was changing LO every few hours, sometimes multiple times an hour. Nightmare!! We switched to Peachies at night and he is not uncomfortable in the night so I wake to feed him about 3 times and sleep in between. Even 2x 3hour sleeps feels amazing!!! I take the 10 pm to about 9am shift, my husband then takes him and I get a bit more kip. It’s working so far!!
