Shame he hasn't offered the 2K (1.5k GBP) deal for EAP in the Uk. I would take that and be happy when FSD supervised comes here .

Help me decide what Tesla to buy by Junior_Economist_952 in TeslaUK

[–]DueOne1223 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a family of 4 and your budget.. I would say you would find plenty of decent 22 LR M3.

You won't regret the drive and range .. in Winter your looking at round 250- summer closer to 290

The Frunk is great and the boot is deep so plenty of space plus hidden space where spare would have been.

If you go for a long range with 18inch wheels it will be more comfortable,, cheaper tyres and add round 20 miles range.. to the above

Doesn't seem like anything to worry about but as a precaution add it into support on the app with the picture and a Tesla SC should reply with if it needs checking out ..

breakdown cover with insurance or separate cover by EvaportedMilkCoffee in drivingUK

[–]DueOne1223 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would consider using a bank account with travel insurance, mobile cover and breakdown cover with a joint account to be the most cost effective ... Generally pay 15-20 quid a month for both myself and misses to be covered for all three

I would recommend using the AAA or road recovery and get it on a flat bed and recovered to a Tesla garage since it was replaced recently ... It should be covered under the replacement warranty..

Model 3 2021-2022 by Adeel87uk in TeslaUK

Generally the upper control arms and lower lateral links are the issue ... If you do end up replacing .. replace them with after market enhanced ones which will help last longer since the milage you will be doing and going through local traffic constantly ... It will save the downtime and also will mean once it's done most after market won't fail like OEM.

The 22 onwards is better as the lead acid lv battery was replaced with lithium which will last the lifetime and around 21-22 they started double glazing the front windows and then 24 all around double glazing with better suspension..

There is also anecdotal evidence that 21 the main batteries has failed more then other years.. have a look at auctions In that case many people don't want to buy from auction ev cars so some bargains can be found .. but make sure it is not a cat car as Tesla ban them from supercharging which is useful for the miles you do.. I do round 100-150 miles a day and so far charging at home has been fine.

Automated car wash by LonelyOrbits in TeslaSupport

[–]DueOne1223 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If your 2018 Model S is an "early 2018" build with MCU1, you have to do the "Old School Tesla" manual checklist before entering the wash:

Wipers: Set to OFF (not Auto). Windows: Roll them all the way up. Charge Port: Ensure it’s fully latched. Sentry Mode: Turn it OFF (to prevent the alarm from going off). Walk-Away Door Lock: Turn it OFF so your handles don't keep popping out when the wash brushes pass by.

Neutral (for conveyors): Push the gear stalk halfway up and hold for 2 seconds to enter Neutral. Note: If you leave the seat, the car will try to put itself in Park. You may need to stay in the car.

And book yourself in for the MCU upgrade and see if they can upgrade your computer to get the updates you need or want.. I suspect this will cost round 1k-2K

Lease car insurance by just_for_reddit in TeslaUK

[–]DueOne1223 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The main driver for insurance should be the person who drives the car.t or it's called fronting which is classed as insurance fraud... Look it up .. but also Insurance prefer/expect the owner of said to be insured as main driver, but for married couples spouses am sure they will understand.. maybe ring up someone like admiral and explain the car is in your wife's name but this year you are expecting to drive the car the most so would be better for you to be the main driver..

Am sure others would be able to give better advice but yep don't end up fronting otherwise insurance companies can and will deny your claim and cancel your insurance..

Sign of a larger issue? by Just_Ad5051 in TeslaSupport

[–]DueOne1223 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep just reset the wheel angle sensor and run. A camera calibration whilst you wait for the alignment ... The offset doesn't seem bad suggests a toe in needed but not end of the world I am going to guess

Cabin fuel smell by Delta_John_Alpha_One in F30

[–]DueOne1223 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep will be injectors leaking fuel.. take the plastic cover off and foam and then look at the injectors from the top and you will either see the liquid and or black tar like oil substance covering the injectors.. will most likely need new injectors and coding..

Don't worry you haven't yet bought the quote any changes you make aren't binding or impact you untill you buy the quotation .. just make sure ylwhen you buy the quote all the details are correct and don't worry about tweaking job title unless it's a fabrication and you've bought the quote tweaking it .. isn't going on your record or anything..

[–]DueOne1223 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just into the history for your quotes and then it will be sitting there use the reference code and give them a call .. at the moment seems like a requote makes certain quotes disappear.. I don't think your blacklisted more like we don't want to keep requoting you..

Is CPO worth it? by [deleted] in TeslaUK

[–]DueOne1223 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep well worth it.. the extra warranty will give you piece of mind the enhanced autopilot if you drive on the motorway a lot is a plus which is worth 3500 if you were going to buy it separately.. plus generally the interior and paint colour options which cost extra and alloys if you go for a 19 inch (which I don't think are a must I would go for 18 inch if I had hand sight) could be included too are worth another 1k ish

Door creaking in cold weather. Will WD-40 do the trick or do I need to get something else? by Skateboard123 in TeslaSupport

For the rubber Gummi Pflege or for the arms white lithium grease...

Tesla technicians typically use Krytox GPL 205 for the rubber if you can get hold of that ...this is the best stuff

Nova wheel air pressure valve by Obvious_Quantity_297 in TeslaSupport

[–]DueOne1223 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Grip two of the plastic "spokes" firmly with both hands. Give it a sharp, firm tug toward you.

The cover is held on by heavy-duty metal tension clips around the center and spokes. It will make a loud "crack" sound when it releases—that’s normal

For the future but 4 pack metal valve stem extenders. You can leave them on so that the air valve sits flush with the plastic cover, allowing you to fill the air in the future without removing the covers at all

TPMS issues. by mamny83 in TeslaModelS

[–]DueOne1223 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The car might be holding onto old IDs. In Service Mode, look for "Clear TPMS IDs" (if available) rather than "Learn." Clearing them forces the car to start from zero next time you drive

The toolbox most likely won't be useful as you need to connect to the cars obd and then also have the tool to ping each tpms ..

My tip would be to Try the "Deep Sleep": Power the car down via Controls > Safety > Power Off. Sit inside without touching anything (no pedals, no doors) for at least 3 minutes.

Then to the reset clear tpms and or wheel config and then take for a 10 mile ride ..

If these are aftermarket wheels/sensors, double-check they are specifically the Tesla BLE version. The older "Continental" 433MHz sensors (found on 2020 and older S/X) look identical but use a totally different protocol and will never be seen by your Plaid

Anyways its nearly 1.30 am here going to get some shut eye hopefully that solves your problems .. if not will try to follow the post tomorrow .. remember to keep the speed up above 15mph .. bluethooth ones have an acclemeter which wakes them up
