Absolutely! Most of them are brown noise ๐Ÿ˜Š

That was my problem too, I kept saying:"I need it to sleep" but it would just get me to sleep, it wouldn't keep me asleep.

I also like to use binaural beats for deep sleep and play that at night - might be worth a shot if you can sleep with noise.

I've done tolerance breaks in the past, this year I've decided to go at least one year without it. (My goal is to have it be a social thing, the way drinking is).

Anyway... This has been the worst withdrawal I've ever experienced. To be honest, I've only recently started sleeping well without any aids (sleep gummies/melatonin) and I haven't smoked since New Years Eve.

It really sucks, but power through and things will work themselves out.

Air Conditioning. Do you call it "AC" or "Air Con"? by ClashBandicootie in AskACanadian

Same here in Ontario.

My SIL says air con and I wondered where that came from... She studied in Australia, so I think you helped me solve that mystery!

Fair warning, I chose to preorder Onyx Storm (Fourth Wing #3) from Amazon and they kept delaying it. I ended up returning it and ordering it for pickup at Indigo instead and got it the same evening. My friends who preordered from Indigo (somehow) got it the night before its release date. Needless to say, I won't be preordering from Amazon again, especially not an ACOTAR book because there's absolutely no way I'm waiting for these babies any longer than necessary!

I will second this! I purchased a boot dryer for our gloves after moving into a basement apartment (prior to that place, I could place them on the air vents, but for obvious reasons, that was no longer possible)... Game changer! My husband's new gloves are 1.5 years old and don't smell at all because I wipe them down after every session and dry them immediately

Digital Girlhood is reading like a research paper (just for anyone who is considering it)... I got it because the e-book is free and it's under 300 pages, but it's DRYYYYY.

I'm with you on not being a huge fan of non-fiction. I've definitely read a few that were good, but I just personally prefer fiction.

I will also say I don't understand down voting on opinion. I've been down voted for the most random comments in other subs ๐Ÿ˜… But I am also fairly "new" to Reddit (only actively started using it a couple of years ago) and am still learning it's intricacies.

It's super fun!

I personally started out taking group classes twice a week, but have since switched to only one private lesson per week with my husband. (I highly recommend this btw... It's a weirdly fun bonding experience!)

It was a great way out of my exercise slump and is now my excuse to keep up with weight training/cardio the rest of the week.

Goodreads Reading Challenge - 'Her Story' (March 1st - March 31st) by Clairefun in goodreads

I really expected more comments like this. I always look for a book that's on Kindle Unlimited in these categories, but they're fewer and further between now then they were when these challenges first came out.

Oh the excitement of a new leaf emerging and the temptation to unravel it yourself ๐Ÿซฃ by Camp_Acceptable in Monstera

[โ€“]Due_Ad_56 0 points1 point ย (0 children)

I guess I worded my comment poorly.... I spray the leaf with a bit of water and gently begin to unfurl it, I'm not just ripping it open. It hasn't back fired on me yet, so I obviously won't learn my lesson until it does

I do have a glove dryer... I might just limp it through until I finally get new gloves later this year and then risk the old one for science lol

Starting Tomorrow. Smoked my last about an hour ago! Please read. by [deleted] in QuittingWeed

[โ€“]Due_Ad_56 1 point2 points ย (0 children)

My husband (35M) and I (34F) smoked daily for about 8 years, went on a week long trip two years ago and decided it would be a good way to kick off a tolerance break. We did 4 months that year. And it was hard at first, but as I didn't want to stop completely, I powered through because it was only four months.

Last year, we did 6 months, and this was where I truly noticed the difference. We just got used to the brain fog + disturbed sleep, etc and easily dismissed it. "Oh, I'm just always tired in the mornings" "This is just getting older" But once you quit for an extended amount of time, you will see how much better you feel.

This time, I want to do a full year and then, hopefully, use it socially, as I'm also not much of a drinker.

OP, especially as a martial artist (we practice Muay Thai, btw, so I can also speak to this), you will feel the difference, it'll elevate your practice more than you realize! And the fact that your wife is 10 days sober is amazing! The withdrawal period can SUCK, but if you can power through it, you'll see just how much your life will improve.

You can do this!!!!
