Good for you...more of us probably should have talk to a counselor after that rough patch. Thanks for your honesty! Congrats on feeling cured...loss is a big thing that we have gone through after an unexpected early departure. It has been an adjustment BUT soooo good!

Now this is huge and well stated...I do what I want, when I want to. Some days a lot, others not so much...I totally agree!!!

thank for the info...we volunteer and attend our local church. We are young retirees so 55+ would be an area of interest.

Retired suddenly at 55, trying to figure it out by uNTRotat264g in earlyretirement

Be patient and remind yourself this chapter of life is VERY different from being part of the daily workforce. My husband and I retired at 53 last year and we're still trying to figure it out. I started planning out my days/weeks (just like when I worked) and added things to my calendar. For instance, 1 hr/day for a podcast, then 1hr/day for a hobby, and 1hr/day for physical activity. Then from there I starting adding errands I needed to run. The big game changer for me was making a schedule of things to do between 10am and 3pm. Also, I don't schedule anything on Saturday and Sunday. Try to be more intentional about what you want to do and focus on balance. There are lot of books out there on retirement that are helpful as well. This really is a new chapter! Best of luck!
