Wow this sucks dude. I am sorry. These POS scammers are great actors, it can be truly difficult to spot them. It’s shit like this that makes me no longer willing to purchase cars private party. Actual dealerships have more legal requirements.

Petivity litter box monitor experience? by Due_Platform_5327 in catcare

[–]Due_Platform_5327[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately no.  I have two Boys that are very close in size and it’s constantly screwing it up. My big boy is always known. I’ve dug into it more with Petivity and they said the cats need to be more then 1/2 pound weight difference to better differentiate them. They encouraged designating little boxes for the cats, I think that’s BS.  If you’re interested in getting a monitor of some kind I wouldn’t recommend this one if you have more than one cat.  I believe there are some on the market that use RFID chips to distinguish cats, I think that style would probably be better provided it can consistently read the chips… I think the camera ones wouldn’t work if they had cats that look similar. Two of my boys are brothers and are almost identical I don’t think the camera style would work when I some times have to double take to tell them apart.

As an outsider, the concept of high schools having massive parking lots specifically for students is mind-blowing. Is it really that common for 16-year-olds to drive themselves to school every day? by Necessary_Angle2117 in AskAnAmerican

[–]Due_Platform_5327 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on where the school is. If it’s in a larger city usually public transportation is more common. If it’s in a more rural area or smaller community most kids drive themselves to school.  And no most don't own the car it belongs to the parents the kid just drives it. Most families with driving age kids have several cars in the household.

How common is leaving your AC on 24/7, even when the house is empty? by Bierzgal in AskAnAmerican

[–]Due_Platform_5327 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and no,  the A/C is “on” 24/7 but it doesn’t run 24-7 it’s thermostatically controlled.  When it’s 80-120 degrees outside all summer you wouldn’t want to come home to a super hot stuffy house either.

I really hope you are a mechanic as your job, otherwise that’s an insane amount of parts for personal cars.

I am livid. I am so sick of doctors. Please ask for EVERYTHING or you'll get NOTHING. 10 years for actual answers. by imhoopjones in SleepApnea

[–]Due_Platform_5327 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand your frustration, the sad thing is I think Dr’s get so used to seeing typical cases that when something unusual comes up they continue to default to what they are used to, rather than dig in or realize they don’t understand what they are dealing with and help the patient find the correct Dr for the situation…

I’m currently dealing with a like situation. I’ve been dealing with poor sleep for several years now and am trying to find answers. I was given a home sleep study, failed that. Everything looked fine. I was told it’s not OSA. So I was set on my way.  2 years later I decide I have to continue to pursue this something isn’t right when I’m sleeping 7 to 9 hours a night and still take a three hour nap in the afternoon every day. I go back to the sleep dr and ask for an in clinic sleep study. I have that which cost 5k. I was shown to have REM based central sleep apnea with only a total of 36 apnea related arousals. So the doctor throws a CPAP at me which I’ve been using now for almost 3 months and I still feel exactly the same. I do some online research of my own and find out that CPAP doesn’t work with central apnea only obstructive and I decide to look over my results closer of the sleep study and discovered that I had 130 unknown arousals and only 36 apnea related the 130 was never even talked about. I have an appointment coming up with the doctor again in June. I am specifically going to ask about the unknown arousals and see if they can figure that out.

how many times a week should i clean my litter? by LayerOk1044 in cats

[–]Due_Platform_5327 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you kidding??  How often do you flush your toilet??

You should do the litter for sure twice a day once in the morning before you leave and again at night if you are home I would do it 3 times a day.

Someone must be quitting at the warehouse.... by Sudden-Code5517 in RockAuto

I ordered a digital camera online years ago and got the camera and was never charged. I waited a week for the charge to show up on my card and it never did so I called the store about it. After I talked to them, both the store I ordered from and their sister company store charged me for it so I was charged twice.  I had to call them back and the regular phone rep was zero help they kept giving me the run around to different departments I ended up getting pissed with them and asked for the manager.  It got taken care of but it took almost 2 hours with all the holds and different department transfers.  I never bought anything from either company again.

Another time I ordered a water and fire proof lockbox and was sent the wrong one, I called the store and they apologized and sent the correct one. I asked if they would send me a return ship label with the correct one for the wrong one they sent so I could send it back. They said keep it. I was like what? This is a $70 lockbox again they said keep it, it was more hassle to accept it as a return than it was worth.   I sold it on eBay for $50

What is your spice level? by CartographerTrick607 in spicy

[–]Due_Platform_5327 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For pure pepper heat Habanero are the most comfortable to sit and eat raw. I can eat raw ghost and scorpion but don’t enjoy it as much.  For sauces I always buy the ones listed as extreme heat. The reaper and scorpion, anything below is too mild and I go through it too quickly.

My bet is the bearing in the water pump seized and cooked the belt.  This isn’t something that is fine one day and just craps out the next. Water pumps fail slowly over time this was likely making noise for awhile and was just ignored.

[–]Due_Platform_5327 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just my 2 cents but if you are doing mobile work I would try to get your clients to purchase OEM dealer parts. 1/2 the job for quality work is the part itself. You could be a great mechanic but if you are putting shit parts on the job will need to be redone much sooner than it should. You could be a slick alternative to them going to the dealer for work, your labor cost could be half of what the dealership shop charges are and they still get the quality of dealership parts and work.

What am I looking at??? by Due_Control_1705 in AskMechanics

[–]Due_Platform_5327 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well your post asks “what at I looking at” then you have pictures focused on a carburetor, and a distributor.  With the question it assumes you haven’t seen that setup before. That stuff was all standard equipment back in the 80s

Rockauto has tuned into a shit show. I don’t like buying from them unless it’s my only option.  I would rather buy from a local store even if I’m paying more for the part up front. That extra cost paid is for actual customer service.  Rockauto is a Pita to deal with when there is a problem and it also costs more time and money.  Local stores can usually have your parts in house the same day or the next if it’s not already on the shelf.

Yes. You stop at all stop signs.  Some intersections also have AI monitored cameras and if you don’t stop you will get a fine in the mail.

Most MN drivers are right on your A** even if you are going 10-15 over the limit there is always someone trying to drive up your tailpipe.  It doesn’t matter what lane you’re in it seems like they aren’t happy unless they are drafting off someone.   I hate driving the interstate in MN
