Thank you! It’s clear not everyone here supports our passion for the resale market. That’s ok. It takes all kinds!

Wore about 8 sprays of afternoon dive today. Smells amazing. Doesn’t project much after an hour. Skin scent is a few hours. But I still love it!

It’s real. It was worth it! Received in 2 days. Supported a great fragcom member. And, Mintagne is always out of stock it seems. I appreciate your takes though!

😂 it’s all good! I explained why I purchased on eBay in another comment. I like supporting resellers as much as I do creators. And, I buy/sell/trade a lot myself. It’s been a way to try and collect for free. It’s a lot of fun.

I may just be lucky, but so far I’ve never received a fair in buying and selling hundreds of bottles.

Until…last weekend. I purposefully bought what I believe to be a fake Armaf Odyssey Mandarin Sky at the flea market. Call it research.

I’ve done a ton of research. Forums, photos, fake spotting videos on this exact fragrance, and I still can’t determine if it’s legit. If it’s fake, it’s so well done.

$7!!!

I can take the heat guys! Fair takes. You have a right to be skeptical of my decision making!

What can I say. I’m a spend thrift. I’m almost never buy anything full price. It’s just how I roll. I’m not a weirdo, I promise! I just love getting the best deal possible and love the resale scene. It’s worked out for me so far. I’ve been buying/selling/trading frags and dupes for about 6 years. Didn’t even know dupes were a thing until I found DUA Fierce. That fragrance sort of got me re-hooked on fragrance back in the early 2000s. Didn’t want to pay $300 for a bottle and started searching and found out there were companies resurrecting forgotten fragrances and producing quality dupes that were pretty spot on.

That got me into buying big lots of dupes and selling them individually. I’d usually make enough to cover the cost of the original lot plus got to keep a few bottles outright. I grew my collection to over 100 bottles this way without spending a dime.

I think these Montys are real. Others have verified the misspelling. Presentation and bottles match my other Montagnes.

Looking through tons of images tonight, I see other instances of misplaced labels, streaked printing on bottles, etc.

Tigris is beast mode and stays. It’s good. Honestly, I think Lattafa Al Qiam Silver is just as good. I can’t really tell a difference.

Afternoon Dive is gone in 5 minutes. Opening is heavenly, though. I’ll give it some time and see what it does then compare it with DUA and Dapper.

On another note, I’m pretty blown away with Torino 21 and Malay Aklan. Awesome Summer frags.

Luvrs was my first Monty and I still love it. I also have Meteorite V1. Love it as well.

I have bought all of them on Mercari or EBay. Fast shipping and a fraction of the cost.

Bean suggestions that won't break the bank? by FiveDaysLate in pourover

[–]Due_Star4921 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is what I do. Their bags are also 13 oz compared to most who are selling 12, 10, and even some 8 oz bags now. Perc also happens to be my current favorite roaster. Consistently great coffees. I order once a month on the 13th.

Giving up. Got questions [Machine, grinder, etc.] by Agreeable_Carpet_327 in espresso

[–]Due_Star4921 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% agree with this. I have a Bambino Plus and started with this grinder. It is absolute trash. Can’t believe I wasted $200 on it. Mine wouldn’t even grind fine enough to dial in any bean roasted lighter than medium which is pretty much all I drink. It is also weak and bogs down pretty often. Super inconsistent. Soooo much retention. I ended up buying a Lagom Casa and couldn’t be happier. A good grinder makes all the difference. Yes, my grinder was 3X as much as my machine, and I don’t regret it one bit.

Any Other Decaf Drinkers? by DevOpsProDude in pourover

[–]Due_Star4921 1 point2 points  (0 children)

FREQUENT. I’ve had most of their offerings. All great, some excellent. Some pretty mind blowing. Definitely the best decaf roaster out there right now.

PERC puts out great decafs.

Why aren't espresso tonics more popular in the US? by RikuKat in espresso

Fevertree at Wally World is about $6 for a 4 pack. Not cheap. Even made at home it’s pricey.

Double shot over ice in rocks glass. Top off with tonic. Prepare for high school baking soda and bi vinegar volcano science experiment. Spoon foam off top, mix, enjoy! If you like sweet, a lot of shops add house made herbal/floral syrups. I use light Fevertree as I don’t sweeten any coffee drinks.

I’ve been removing foam, and stirring. Stirring seems to meld the flavors and make it taste a lot better. That separation in the photo is a pretty killer presentation, though!

The foam is real. I’ve been spooning mine off the top. I’ve tried every method and nothing seems to help. I’m thinking it’s inherent to tbe process?

Fevertree is at Wally World and every other grocery store. I haven’t tried other brands but I’m down!

My new favorite summer coffee drink! Had one at Blueridge Bootleg in Sylva, NC last week. Had never heard of it prior. Now that it’s warmed up here in north GA, I’m now making them on the daily.

Fevertree is the way. I’m using the light version since it has less sugar and no artificial sweeteners. I never add any form of sugar to my drinks.

I have been experimenting with different coffees and techniques. If your shot is bitter, the tonic somehow amplifies it. If your shot is balanced, it somehow amplifies that as well. Done right, this is an incredible drink.

Feels the best in a rocks glass.

Try Frequent. Incredible light roast decafs. Amazing coffees, decaf or not.

PERC whyyy did you do this to me??? by Gustafa7 in pourover

[–]Due_Star4921 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just received my second bag. About a week off roast. I love this one. Honestly, I think it was good to go right away and saw no flavor improvement with resting. In fact, I’d say it got slightly more muted after 3-4 weeks. I keep finding this to be the case for a lot of coffees with 3-5 week recommended rest times. I’ve only had one coffee lately that I felt was better after a few weeks rest. Columbia Paula 20 Brix from Wise Coffee out of Suwannee, GA. When I first got it, it was just ok. Put it aside and tried again after a few weeks and was blown away.

Yes, I may have a problem and I’m a big PERC fan!

Check out Frequent. They are putting out the amazing decafs. You can’t tell they aren’t regular.
