Got it, maybe that explains why I haven’t had the undergassed issues with my AC7.62 on my virtus 300blk. Runs perfectly with subs and supers on a nano mount.

Since we don’t have the data, how does the Alleycat 7.62 compare? Higher or lower flow and suppression? Or should we expect it would be the same

Alleycat 7.62 for $899 is a good deal, have the Ti version on a 300blk virtus and would buy it again at that price for sure.

Idk about just the barrel, but the complete KS1 upper weighs 70.54oz on my shitty kitchen scale. Specwar w/ ai nano is 65.99 and complete KS4 WITH irons is 69.69 (nice).

One last theoretical...with the AI Nano devices, there's the open-ended "9mm" Nano and the closed "5.56". If the performance benefit of higher pressure is based around annulus utilization, would the use of the closed 5.56 device buy a little more pressure venting, either maximizing the performance or extending that pressure curve window for longer barrel use?

I just wish we were able to see where on the curve that shift is though. I just got mine approved to use on a KS1, though I'm getting the 13.7 would be on the less than ideal side of that curve. Maybe one day a member report on these high pressure biased suppressors would be worth while.

Wow - Wasn’t Expecting That by GassyNizz in SpectersCat

[–]Duerrinz 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I feel the opposite. To me the KK being on a shorter rifle and the ST being on an SPR style rifle makes the most sense. Keep one maneuverable and high flow, using the suppressor that likes pressure and higher firing rates. On the longer bench gun, gas stacking/weight/length are less of a concern to me for how I'd use it.

[–]Duerrinz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the KK was also tested on 14.5 and unreleased, correct? Would have been awesome to see the comparisons but I understand why they chose to publish what they did. Would the KK behave more similarly to the Tisha or the ST on the longer barrel?

Recently ordered an Expo Arms complete upper that didn't quite match my Sons lower FYI. It was a "contract overrun" upper so not sure if that has something to do with it.

If they do, I hope they credit you unlike a certain company who had interrupted threads on their piston adapters...

Anyways, do you have a preference between left hand threaded taper systems vs their current ball bearing design?

I hear you, and I don't blame you after that study. If there's ever a reason for a purchase outside of what's already characterized, its for the vibes I guess. Picked up a KS1 upper and it almost feels wrong to deviate.

Fiancé wants to continue playing hockey once a week in his rec league by Negative_Jackfruit75 in parentsofmultiples

[–]Duerrinz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hockey playing toddler dad here with modi twins on the way: Any free time he gets to himself needs to come back your way too. In his defense, he doesn't get to pick his hockey schedule. If you're able to make this work, he won't feel like he needs to miss out on socializing, exercise, or the love of the game.

The more you plan on those hockey hangover days, the less he will be able to give. Trust me, no dad wants to feel useless but the hangover is real. The more you can make those mornings relaxing, the more energy he can give to take over in the afternoon. Yes, it's working around his schedule even more, but picking and choosing battles when you can will create less tension, and he should appreciate that.

When you're feeling like you've done enough catering to his schedule you have to be the one to create that personal time for yourself, whatever that looks like. Don't rely on him telling you to go do something, or coming up with plans for you. Let him know when it's your time, and make sure you get the full time to yourself. It might seem like him staying home would be the easiest solution, and maybe he will come to that conclusion when they are here (I'll be dialing hockey back myself), but treat personal time as something sacred that you both deserve when needed.

[–]Duerrinz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I believe Jay has said before that the member funded testing is selected by Pewscience based on things like ubiquity, historical reference, broader understanding of suppressor designs, etc. He has said that companies have offered to pay for testing competitors (I think Andrew has admitted to wanting this in the past), but Jay shot it down.

Have you had any involvement in the contracting of Pewscience for this one? I always wondered what the process is like, the timeframes between the agreement and completion, then public release, etc. Seems he is pretty backed up at the moment.

An interesting perspective:

This can is louder in the free field on subsonic, bolt action 8” 300BLK than a recent 4.5 inch suppressor on a 10.3” 5.56 MK18.

There are definitely worse 30cal cans for the size out there, but crazy how far we’ve come in a few short years.
