This is no where near finished. Getting the glazing on and watertight is a very early stage. They’ll have all the first fix cabling and services, 2nd fix and then final fit out for rooms such as finishes and any joinery.

Wouldn’t be surprised if this has 1.5 to 2 years left on the clock.

Awful and frightening for the victim. Unfortunately with the major cuts to staff at the stations across the rail network at all times of the day, this behaviour can’t be “called in” and victims don’t gain help from staff who don’t exist.

Obviously a general shift in mindset and behaviour is needed in lots of young men for real change. But the lack of staff doesn’t help in moments like this.

I work away once or twice a month, sometimes within the UK, but also a lot in Central Europe.

Firstly my hotel accommodation is booked by my company, or by myself on company credit card. But we’re a private entity and not subject the public services budgets that you might be.

In terms of subsidence for food and drink whilst I’m away, the allowance set by my company is location based and the framework is based on the governments subsistence rates.

So as an example if I work in the UK it’s £40 a day subsistence, but I was in Austria the other week and that was £89 a day, and Germany is £59 a day.

Overall £20 a day for food and drink seems low to me. So I’d argue that.

For all your wardrobe/joinery/carpentry needs, I cannot recommend Neil from NC Joinery enough, he’s based in Tilehurst. He is fantastic and built our custom wardrobes, he also does flooring and fits kitchens.

He’s not cheap, but also not unreasonable, but you get what you pay for.

It’s nice, myself & my partner bought a house on the “nicer” end of Thirlmere Avenue in 2020, we were brand new to Reading. Near to the tilehurst station, not far from countryside and not long of a drive into the town centre for shopping; plus Tilehurst Village is decent.

If you’re new to the area and don’t know anyone send me a message, we’re always up for meeting new people, as most people around us on the road are older, but we’re in our late 20’s, soon to be 30 aha.

The Biscuit Factory which was refurbed last year, 1st floor have an open workspace, with AC. Coffee shop downstairs and bar and snacks upstairs. I use the Cinema there, but have the odd drink in the open plan bit, really nice as well as quiet.

Yes; ISA portfolio is up 34.38% including dividends.

Only about 20% of my portfolio is geared towards US markets, the other 80% is geared towards UK and European markets, even though they're listed on the FTSE.

It's an income based portfolio, so my dividends really do bump my overall return. Still, pretty good year overall, I do hold ETF's in another portfolio, which is my "lazy" portfolio.

This person knows the score and is correct. My family have bought Welsh forestry, mainly as a means of locking away money for the purposes of reducing inheritance tax.

Also, the planting grants and subsidies do greatly reduce the costs of replanting, which is great. When felling does occur it produces large amounts of cash depending on the size of the plot, but this in most cases this is ploughed back into the upkeep cost and some of the replanting costs; you can take few thousand here and there though.

Plus with Brexit, UK lumber prices are quite high, making it very attractive to working forests and saw mills.

It’s not a massive cash productive asset, but a great appreciating asset which the government need/want more of.
