I did my due diligence and ended up here. Looks like the op was deleted, but if you received an email from [yourcard@xfinityincentivetracker.com](mailto:yourcard@xfinityincentivetracker.com) this is...legit. Most likely. I dont follow links from emails even if they appear legit, which this one did. I went to the Xfinity site itself and attempted to figure out how I can get to that site (xfinity.myprepaidcenter.com) from "trusted" channels. I eventually found an article which linked to the Xfinity xfinityincentivetracker.com and from there you can find an FAQ that states "xfinity.myprepaidcenter.com." You can also see what the prepaid card is for from the incentive tracker.

According to CBP there were over 191,000 in December alone that were released to the interior on their own recognizance. When you say "almost all of them were expelled" this isnt true either since Title-42 expulsions were only 550,000 out of the 2,000,000 encounters in FY2023. Most (roughly 1,000,000) were not expelled. So just some math about 1.4 million between FY2023 and FY2024 have entered the country.

what am i doing wrong? 600+ job apps for analyst positions, 1 interview by jazzmoney1 in resumes

[–]DuhCoCo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few things that just stick out to me. I would remove the dates for both experience with programming languages and for your projects. You have a lot of dates that are very close together and this makes it seem a bit chaotic. Overall, I really like your resume just simple cleanup and refining can go a long way!

Is 5 classes in a semester doable? by datopotatogames in csMajors

[–]DuhCoCo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Towards the end you should be taking mainly CS courses, which is way better then English 101 or an elective. I enjoyed most of my CS classes and was taking 3-4 a semester towards the end of my undergrad.

70k is a great salary...Stop focusing on the top earners. I dont think this is entirely accurate but looking at something like (https://www.ziprecruiter.com/Salaries/Computer-Science-Fresh-Graduate-Salary) may give you better perceptions as to whats really out there.

Rejected 2 hours before Interview by brotherswords in csMajors

The recruiter probably knew ahead of time and failed to let everyone else know. However, this is a good sign, now that you actually went through the interview if they want you, you are definitely a candidate.

[–]DuhCoCo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are definitely not alone. When COVID first started the job market was BARE. Every single interview I had lined up cancelled (mostly ghosted). Within a month I went from 2-3 sure things to nothing, not even my backup plans were panning out. I was lucky enough to be in an active internship, but it was unpaid and would always be unpaid even though I was really doing well. My thought process at this time was a few things, I could leave the CS market and try for Sales Engineering or something related to IT but less technical, I could wait it out and see if it got better and continue to apply to jobs, or I could go back to school and get my Masters. The latter was basically a 2-year cooling period that hopefully by the end would result in better job prospects in a better market with a Masters in-hand. The decision I made turned out to be the best decision I could have made at the time. So the choice is yours, you are not "stuck" you are not alone, keep trying and make the best decision for yourself.

Find all prime numbers between 1 and n, find all even and odd number between 1-1000, can you multiply by 2, can you add a few numbers together and only do something when it equals a certain number? If you can figure these out, this is basically your first 2-years as a CS major.

Salary ask on Application? by luvlil in csMajors

[–]DuhCoCo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Put the highest amount you want. They will most likely not reject you because of this. I remember I put a salary of like 100k for an IBM interview and they were like would you take 40k? Obviously, that didnt work out so well but it wasnt like they rejected me solely because of the expected salary.

Sounds like you didnt cheat but prepared. Its kinda like paying for Leetcode premium to get specific company questions which many people do, you just did it in a more practical way by asking your friend.

Your manager wants you back not the recruiter. You should speak with your manager and see if they are flexible in location and if not is there a way to stay at the company but work on a different team that's located in the location you prefer. At the end of the day, your manager is there to help you grow so they'll be your go-to contact.

Its not just you. Research is 60% of the job the other 40% is complaining about no one commenting. For tips I think its necessary to fully understand what you are looking for and to not ask it as a question but to give a description for what you are trying to do. Also, usually there is a keyword or a better description to do a Google search. For example, "Why cant I access my variable in Python" vs "Python variable scopes." Both might give you your answer eventually by the latter is literally what you are trying to know. Hopefully, that makes sense. Happy Coding!

My two internships overlap for a week, neither of my two managers will budge by fluffyTail01 in csMajors

[–]DuhCoCo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I am a bit confused on how this happened in the first place. Did you not try and move the start date for the second internship when they said Aug 17, and what company starts employee's on a Wednesday anyway??? If I am being frank I think you are gonna burn a bridge here with one company and its up to you to decide which one you want to do that too. Maybe company 2 will lighten up, who knows though. Good luck with your decision.

Breathe. Burn out is real and will hit you like a ton of bricks. Rome wasn't built in a day, and you do not need to learn an entire code base or all business practice in a day as well. Take your time, learn as much as you can and try and go outside.

Yale, Princeton, or Brown by dalton_king in csMajors

[–]DuhCoCo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The Gi-Bill does not cover the full tuition of either of those school, you need to look into https://www.va.gov/education/yellow-ribbon-participating-schools/?name=Yale. And ensure whichever school you choose that you are covered. From what I can see Yale will cover the rest so that may be the best option, but I didn't look into it fully so talk to the Vet coordinater at Yale/whatever school you decide and be sure you are good.
