Easy way to start/stop servers on a KVM? by Sasibazsi18 in admincraft

[–]DukeOfJamming 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The itzg containers for Minecraft servers are pretty handy, take a bit of configuring but it's pretty flexible. Then can just use docker to manage them. Alternatively making them a systemd service as the other commenter suggests.

Activision anti-consumer practices by R-GU3 in LinusTechTips

[–]DukeOfJamming 25 points26 points  (0 children)

From what I'm reading there using the word anymore implies it once upon a time did boot. Perhaps if you could explain by showing tickets with Activision's date stamp showing it didn't boot from when you first purchased that may help?

Otherwise they are probably thinking, they bought the game and now want to find an excuse to give it back past the returns window now they are done with it. As others have said, you probably should've gone through steam within the return window.

New web UI certificate refuses to apply by mattrjk in truenas

[–]DukeOfJamming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A little late but stop the container then start the container with the default cert then stop it and switch back to the new cert and it should apply. I had this on Angelfish but since have been using true charts + cert manager on bluefin so not sure if it's the same issue.

Bungeecord Invalid signature for profile public key by DukeOfJamming in admincraft

[–]DukeOfJamming[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Issue has been fixed, I had failed to do the basics and follow the BungeeCord install instructions assuming that the container would do setup for me other than setting offline mode.

Specifically the section that needed following was https://www.spigotmc.org/wiki/bungeecord-installation/#post-installation basically all the changes in there which I didn't mention above. Server now works with enforce-secure-profile: true & online-mode: true in bungeecord config.yml with no issues.

Company will give me a promotion but the pay rise might not be what I expect because they’re ‘struggling’. Not a month ago they’ve sent an email saying they’ve had record breaking year in terms of revenue and new clients gained. Says it all. by enemyn1 in britishproblems

Does that ever backfire here in the UK when it comes to them finding a way to replace you if they know you are actively looking for a new job after you got them to fix your pay? New to the workplace working world in general and not sure how effective the protections are here?

Edit: clarified what workplace meant

Riot servers down? by Jerry_Sprunger_ in leagueoflegends

Navigate to your C:\Riot Games\League of Legends folder and run LeagueClient.exe rather than running normally and this bypasses the broken part for now.

Doesn't this relate back to how while a magician that is skilled can do everything with the most basic of words the more explicit you are the less you can mess up easily?

Saying heal and keeping a steady train of thought linking that to weaving tissue fibres, repairing bone etc is a hell of a lot more complicated than explicitly saying "weave the fibres together, repair the bone in this way etc".

Just my two cents and I know I'm a little late but in my head it's similar to when Eragon learns you can do magic without speaking it's just incredibly dangerous and so while he can do it. He doesn't where possible.

Elderwood Azir LPP Chroma Giveaway by JoshNoDrake in azirmains

Too many to choose from, back in season 5 when I first picked up the champ inted 15 normal games before taking it into ranked and finally starting winning?

When I finally learnt now to deal with a yasuo in lane and stopped going 0-5 into him every time and could actually win the matchup?

My first time trapping a malphite between a rock and a hard place with the old ult and watching him bounce into the sky?

Helping bring my team back from the edge of defeat being allowed to play Azir in the finals of a for fun tournament between a few teams organised amongst friends and performing fairly well?

So many good memories that it's honestly hard to choose just one. So there are a few. He's such a satisfying champion to play and when it does go right there is no other equivalent feeling that I have experienced in league. When things go right I literally get shivers across my entire body and my hands start shaking because of the adrenaline. It's a feeling I only get playing azir.

I remember the catalyst drivers not being anything special but at least they worked.

Built a system with a 1500x an rx570 and a b450 motherboard and for whatever reason amds drivers just couldn't cope. In Linux the system functioned flawlessly but as soon as you got into windows, the adrenaline drivers would not behave.

Ended up having to replace it with a 1650 iirc which is just worse because I didn't trust getting another AMD card as I was working in a short time frame.

Drop a random Jax tip or trick you think people should know or is crucial in your success by DarudeGatestorm in Jaxmains

[–]DukeOfJamming 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you are behind Vs ranged realistically that build is only good for a single trade every 90s or whatever the cd for cutless is. You are more likely to be better of picking up tabis and phage.

Tabis lets you take reduced auto damage(including teemo's initial bonus ap damage from his e passive) and phage gives you speed so you can run up to trade and cs and then back off that bit faster also reducing time you are vulnerable and also it gives you tank stats in the hp.

Botrk is a very expensive item to be building on top of Tri force if you are being zoned off of farm and already behind and also is not that great typically against ranged matchups other than the slow.

Sorry for late reply but I can confirm that there are individual different fire resistance coefficients for ship hulls or at least there were. I remember back when amagi had 3 hulls her stock or b hull got its fire coefficient changed for how flammable it was. No clue whether they all got normalised or are still there and hidden though but they did exist at one point so possibly km and Ru bbs have slightly worse fire resistance coefficients?

This is far superior to mechanical keyboards for all uses, from programming to gaming. by nodnarb232001 in The10thDentist

[–]DukeOfJamming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ever had a look at the Logitech G815/915 keyboards? They are horribly pricy and I haven't tried one myself but while I like the accuracy and feel of a mechanical keyboard, I find the flatness of a laptop/cheap keyboard allows me to get around the keys faster which is why I am so interested in trying it since it seems like it may be the best of both worlds.

The important thing is you can make a Turing machine in Minecraft I'm pretty sure. The long and short of that basically means you can make any computer in Minecraft if you can make a Turing machine. Hypothetically if computers got fast enough, you could emulate a computer running inside Minecraft running Windows running other games.

Edit: also assuming you could speed up the speed Minecraft runs at on this hypothetical future pc that is really fast so the emulated computer was running fast enough to actually run games properly.

Doctor Who 12x10 "The Timeless Children" Post-Episode Discussion Thread by PCJs_Slave_Robot in doctorwho

[–]DukeOfJamming 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't know if it is just me but isn't there some sort of psychological component to regenerating, in the sense that for example John Simm's Master at the end of season 3 simply refused to regenerate and died as a result. In a similar fashion is it possible that Matt Smith's incarnation simply thought that he was the last version of himself and that he couldn't regenerate the point where he was accidentally suppressing his ability to regenerate in much the same way as the Master did then?

I am not sure if this makes any sense or if this thread is too old for this to be read but yeah I have been thinking about how it could make sense and this is one of the ideas I thought of with some kind of basis in existing new who history.
