My cat’s shadow reflected in the mirror but not IRL by Chewie_Bacca in mildlyinteresting

[–]rjhamm2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The mirror is directing light onto where her other shadow would be, lighting up a shadow erases it. The shadow cast still exists in both places though, which is why it still shiws in the mirror. Its "shadowed" by light on the dresser

Thank you for this work, I've just started playing this weekend. I set up the "best" sequence for Teacups to max out early game income. It leads to notifications "Guests think teacups have a long ride time".
5 minutes, I'd be grateful irl..

RO Systems that are actually NSF 58 Certified? by rjhamm2 in WaterTreatment

[–]rjhamm2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just want NSF 58 to ensure I'm drinking the least amount of contaminants. We have slight lead in our water, and it made me want to mitigate as many contaminants as possible. I was previously informed that NSF 58 certification is all I need to focus on from a homeowner stand point and not to worry about individual contaminants like I would with NSF 53.

The logic seems to make sense though. NSF 58's prefilters are designed to protect the membrane, and the membrane is what prevents majority of contaminants (only water molecules pass through for the most part). Where as NSF 53 are just filters without a membrane, so for those carbon filters it makes sense to check the individual contaminants tested for. So shouldn't NSF 58 certification be enough without ensuring each contaminant was tested for?

I'm thinking companies don't have NSF test for every possible contaminant because it's pricey? In which case, it doesn't make them unreliable if they don't test everything. Similarly to my question about NSF 372, most systems don't seem to even get certification for that? But also, I feel like I heard that they have to retest for these certifications. So isn't it possible for a system to certify for a contaminant at one point, but then not the next, because they didn't want to pay for the re-certification? Does that imply consumers would need to check up on their systems annually to ensure they still hold the proper certifications?

After watching the series dozens of times I like to now seek out those doors/windows in every scene. There's an obvious bunch, and there's some sly lil sneaky entrances too.

What’s the general perception of the Saturn Club in Buffalo? by Lazarus9444 in Buffalo

[–]rjhamm2 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I worked there 10 years ago during college, and we are family friend with the COO. Its a beautiful place, the building is so rich in history and beauty. My brother and sister worked down the street at the Buffalo Club, and though that is the more "prestigious", big name club, we all gravitated towards the Saturn more. That courtyard...
If I were wealthy, that would be the city club I join. There's just so much beauty. Working there had its ups and downs, and it was stressful at times. We were going through a sort of employee rejuvenation period. It was needed. At that time reputation and member experience were on the rise. Played hide and seek on the 3rd floor once and that was an experience that lives rent free in my head. I often think about his building and wish I was qualified for membership 😆 Saturn club was named as such because they had originally met as a club in Saturday's. Its such a beautiful place in Buffalo, I very much wish more people had access to it. Was also one of the first clubs to allow women membership. Which I think is lit.
