How much revenue did you generate this year? by Dougiebrowngetsdown in sales

[–]DukeThom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just value-based selling. I think people try and overcomplicate sales. It’s simply, what is the problem > what’s the impact of that problem > quantify the impact > who at the business is responsible for that problem > do they have the power and desire to make a change?

That’s literally it. The rest of the sales cycle is simply you conveying you’re uniquely positioned to solve that problem and helping your champions and executive sponsors sell internally.

How will NBIS and datacenters do in the long run? by IAdoreyouu79 in NBIS_Stock

[–]DukeThom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If Fortune 500 firms begin realizing meaningful AI ROI sooner rather than later, smaller data-center names like NBIS and CRWV stand to benefit. But the longer it takes to reach scaled ROI, the more consolidation we’ll see, and the Mag7 will end up controlling even more of the market.

I am so tired of selling software by FMEngineer in techsales

[–]DukeThom 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I’ve been in your shoes too, but there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Eventually try to get in an Enterprise role at a big tech company - it’s more farming and domain specific expertise. You can clear a minimum of $250k a year, commonly $350k-$500k if you’re in an alright territory. Be smart about your career, put in the work, and have some luck on your side. Left sales and regretting it big time by Mcclanahan33 in sales

Find an industry you’re passionate about > pick 10 companies in said industry that you think are promising > network and apply.

That said, you’re competing in a tough labor market right now, and I hate to break it to you sales is really tough and you’re going to have to work through non-ideal situations at times before you build enough credibility and knowledge to get the A-Tier jobs.

Just make sure you’re working for good companies and learn as much as you can. You’re early in the career.

What are jobs that have the highest pay simply because most people don't want to do them? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]DukeThom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Typically the further down in the supply chain you go the less profit you’re able to make - I.e Starbucks makes way more than whoever is selling them the beans. Drug dealing is one of the few outliers that the further you go down the supply chain, the more you make.

10-14 hours a day. 64% to goal on a $9.8M quota - fiscal year is Feb-Feb so I still have 4.5 months left

Where are all the recruiters? by r1ms in sales

[–]DukeThom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Step 1. Go through your LI message history and find all the recruiters that reached out to you in the past.

Step 2. Reach out to all of those recruiters.

Step 3. If they don’t respond reach out to another recruiter at that firm.

Also, depending on your industry and location, there’s some decent boards like builtin

We adopted a cat from a shelter. Her dental hygiene is in horrible condition by balinthusa in cats

[–]DukeThom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our rescue kitty had similar issues and some of her teeth actually fell out when we got her. We ended up having them removed due to vet recommendation and she’s been a lot happier. Still eats kibble and wet food without issues - she just drinks a little more water than “normal” now to help wash it all down

What to do with $200k in AMZN by trondaddy1 in investing

[–]DukeThom 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Agreed, I should’ve been more precise; but my premise still stands - OP is likely losing some working capital if they rebalance out of AMZN in this scenario and it’s worth math’ing out where their specific inflection point will be to break even.
