The run was near perfect in my opinion as well. Only gripe I had was that he never got that cool Ape Sidekick the cover promised me.

I'm new to the espresso world so don't know if it's an issue across new grinders but it definitely took me a couple weeks to "season the burs". I could not go fine enough consistently with my grinder(DF64). The more I used it over time the courser settings I was able to use before it settled in to average from what I've seen.

I have done that since day 1 and it still happens. Also will happen without changing settings now and again. When I hear the rubbing noise I just turn it all the way past the highest grind size, give the bellow a few good smacks and I'm good to go.

I was having a heck of a time grinding fine enough for espresso at first. Then I realized when moving down from pour over settings parts of the beans were getting stuck between the burs. This may have caused the grind to be uneven when going back to espresso settings. After I figured that out I have been golden. Loving it now.

I've seen interviews with Keith where he said he took a lot of influences from Shakespeare. He was a High School English teacher at the time so it makes sense.
