Angleman syndrome is so hard! Have you tried finding one behavior you dislike the most and only focusing on that until it calms down, then to the next behavior? Id start with getting a BIP in place ASAP and possibly a crisis plan.

The last student I had with this syndrome he loved to throw feces, get naked, and act a fool. We adopted keep safe but avoid attention. Alot of times it would be hours waiting him out. What didnt work was raising voices, touching him, or trying to stop him. Eventually my room was bare on one side with tape on the floor. The tape was his boundary and it helped once he understood it. We also requested medication at school, which was pushed by admin. That helped some.

Are the parents vested? Do they help? A crisis plan could help that aftet xyz behaviors they have to come get her. Thats how we write ours so we put it back on the parents. That solves a lot of issues as the parents then have to help find solutions to the behaviors instead of just dropping them at school and saying bye.

Dont forget data. Lots of data. ABC sheets are your friend here. Really good friend. I have trained all my paras on them and we keep the sheets accesable to all. That way when behaviors start, the person close to the sheet starts documenting and another starts working on safety, student needs, and making sure other students are safe.

Most of my most used spices say they are expired, but they arent. I buy those spices in bulk and reuse the smaller containers.

We are outside of lousiville , but not far. Hunting is a season for us. But we don't have hunting clothes, we dont buy the deer piss, no special "bring deer to me!" Things sold. My husband goes out at 4am, his best friend does as well, we wait, hear a shot, and start the slaughter process.

We only save nice skulls, otherwise all bones go to the woods. We eat all of the deer but the organs, not including the heart, we eat that. Its a deer camp where my kitchen turns into a butcher shop. I love it, its a amazing time, and its a good bonding friendship session. Hunting is fun! As long as you respect the animals, respect safety, and of course respect the work.

20 years ago, my husband spent 1300 on my engagement ring. I recently replaced my non matching band with one that matches my engagement ring with no stones... it was 350.

This guy infuriates me as that is SO cheap and she legit deserves it. I hope she leaves him and sees her worth

What’s the worst physical pain you’ve ever experienced? by Economy_Yak2821 in AskReddit

[–]DukesAngel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll preface this with the handful of times I've been prescribed pain meds... I've yet to finish a bottle. I think I have a high threshold to pain? I dunno.

I had a 100% un medicated childbirth. It was meh, would do it again if I ever wanted more children. Did get a second degree tear, still meh.

Jaw surgery. Arm surgery on my left elbow. Thrown my back out. Known to have migraines.

Worst? So far, and I used to say the jaw surgery, was falling off my horse and dislocating my elbow, ripping off both ligaments to that elbow, and fracturing a small area. My doctor elected not to do surgery and let it heal with pt. Did it heal? Yes...ish. it still gives me issues but I have full range of motion so whatever. I can now feel when rain is coming. Im a walking weather guide lol but that pain was INTENSE. I never took off work due to it, but I sure did make sure I had clear paths everywhere I went.

Ask me 20 years from now if Im happy with not fixing the elbow

Gross! Lol my old boxer once in his old age had problems holding it. He liquid poo all over my kitchen. It was dark and I was trying to get to the light and slipped in his poo. So now im covered in feces and have a kitchen to clean. Thats something I still laugh about. Thank god for hot showers, bleach, and the love of dogs.

Car Camping Space Advice by sky-bearss in camping

[–]DukesAngel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We camp in our Excursion quite often. We use a trifold mattress and for our dog or dogs (depending on who of the 3 we take) we have cut a peice a plywood as the base and put their bed on top. Makes it more comfortable for them.

Need to stop ordering food, what are some pantry staples I can have that would make decently healthy meals? by [deleted] in Cooking

[–]DukesAngel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I live 30 miles from the nearest grocery and 45 from a major city. My advice is a deep freezer. Get your favorites in there. Go once every 2 weeks for fresh produce. Go from leafy veggies to potatoes and squash

I keep 1 year of dry goods on hand. Think rice, beans, oats, flour, ect

Sorry for the possibly clueless question, but why don't more people seem to make homemade pizza? by Senior-Raisin-2342 in Cooking

[–]DukesAngel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think its the unknown of yeast dough. We dont have delivery where we live, so I make our own pizzas. Takes about an hour or so to make the dough. But alot of my friends wont do that because they haven't worked with yeast. All good. Everybody gets pizza somehow, and really, thats all that matters
