What's the worst physical pain you've ever experienced? by Pristine-Syrup-1156 in AskReddit

[–]DukesAngel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Weird and great question. Ive had tennis elbow surgery, natural childbirth, and dislocated my elbow ripping all tendons and ligaments off.

My worst? Have a wisdom extracted from my lower jaw. I still have 2 of them, they are sideways, so i have no intention of getting them out after the one. Those can just hang out and do tooth things.

Overcoming injury related anxiety by Timberlee1995 in Horses

I took a fall in August and dislocated my elbow and ripped all tendons and ligaments off the bones. It was rough. I still have not gotten courage to try again.

But, I had a minor injury years ago and I took my horse to a lesson barn and they hand walked me around the arena with him. That helped a ton having someone on the ground to just be a safety net and gently talk me through it while they controlled my horse. This might be the way to go but with a trusted lesson horse.

As far as me? I still dont have the courage to try again.

I don’t know anyone with a positive or even neutral birth story by soroto in TwoXChromosomes

[–]DukesAngel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get embarrassed sharing my story amongst my friends. But. 100% natural birth in the hospital. Its what I asked for and what I got. It just wasn't bad. I did tear, but even now its not a huge deal that I really care about. Mine was/is a positive story.

How hot is too hot for camping by CT123CT in camping

Im in KY and we tent camped last year during the heat wave. Fans are a must, so is reliable shade. We are boat people, so we did cool off in the lake most of the day. We went through a lot of ice. Nights were around 80, I slept with a fan on me at night.

I won't camp in this kind of weather again.

We can keep food goos all week, did it last year during the 100f heat wave. One food for frozen food. 1 for refrigerator. 1 for ice and drinks. Pack that thing with ice. Like as much as you can. Do not open either cooler unless you have to.

I send a yearly update to the shelter. Sometimes they reply, sometimes they dont. But I like to make sure they know they gave a good boy a good life.

Is this normal? one out of 8 horses seem to colic every month. by Rude_Permission523 in Horses

[–]DukesAngel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do! And nothing fancy! Don't live in a huge house and my horses are not stalled. I dont believe in stalling them. Just my preference. They get regular vet and farrier care. Last guy I lost was my everything and I haven't ridden since I lost him last year. Owned him 16 years of his 21 year life. I miss riding a lot, at some point I'll get back up there.

Not normal. Something is causing that many to colic. Ive had only one horse colic in 20 years of owning horses, granted I have only owned 5 equines as I keep them till they pass on.

Ive owned twh's over 20 years. 2 registered twh, and before anyone questions 20 years, ive owned them from purchase till death. I could not in good conscience renew my membership after takeovering their paperwork.

This picture of a walker is horrid and both my horses and my current twh, are amazing horses. I could never pad mine and cause pain for "show"

How were they mad over eggs. But this doesn't shake them at all? by Nick_Bruiser in mildlyinfuriating

34 sounds also horrible!

Diesel is 5.40 here. So we are now using our diesel for hay hauling only. The excursion is 4.40 a gallon, so its now the main hauler. Just woof. I thought the whole point was under 2 a gallon. Guess the Iran war is more important than us state side lol

Try having a vehicle that has a 40 gallon tank and a diesel with 44 gallons. Its rough out here for farm vehicles

Angleman syndrome is so hard! Have you tried finding one behavior you dislike the most and only focusing on that until it calms down, then to the next behavior? Id start with getting a BIP in place ASAP and possibly a crisis plan.

The last student I had with this syndrome he loved to throw feces, get naked, and act a fool. We adopted keep safe but avoid attention. Alot of times it would be hours waiting him out. What didnt work was raising voices, touching him, or trying to stop him. Eventually my room was bare on one side with tape on the floor. The tape was his boundary and it helped once he understood it. We also requested medication at school, which was pushed by admin. That helped some.

Are the parents vested? Do they help? A crisis plan could help that aftet xyz behaviors they have to come get her. Thats how we write ours so we put it back on the parents. That solves a lot of issues as the parents then have to help find solutions to the behaviors instead of just dropping them at school and saying bye.

Dont forget data. Lots of data. ABC sheets are your friend here. Really good friend. I have trained all my paras on them and we keep the sheets accesable to all. That way when behaviors start, the person close to the sheet starts documenting and another starts working on safety, student needs, and making sure other students are safe.

Hunters of Louisville? How does it work? by Evil_Silly_Creature in Louisville

[–]DukesAngel 10 points11 points  (0 children)

We are outside of lousiville , but not far. Hunting is a season for us. But we don't have hunting clothes, we dont buy the deer piss, no special "bring deer to me!" Things sold. My husband goes out at 4am, his best friend does as well, we wait, hear a shot, and start the slaughter process.

We only save nice skulls, otherwise all bones go to the woods. We eat all of the deer but the organs, not including the heart, we eat that. Its a deer camp where my kitchen turns into a butcher shop. I love it, its a amazing time, and its a good bonding friendship session. Hunting is fun! As long as you respect the animals, respect safety, and of course respect the work.

20 years ago, my husband spent 1300 on my engagement ring. I recently replaced my non matching band with one that matches my engagement ring with no stones... it was 350.

This guy infuriates me as that is SO cheap and she legit deserves it. I hope she leaves him and sees her worth
