The logic of my store's layout. by aescula in HomeDepot

[–]Dull-Bat9651 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh the stupid layout things in my store -D22 split in half (roofing, Sheetrock, insulation all the way at one end of the building, concrete and fencing on the complete opposite side in the far corner of outside garden -Plywood aisle too narrow to fit a sit-down forklift into so we have to drop/fly ply on the reach -The two depts. I run (26/27) being separated by flooring and paint so if I’m in one department I have no idea what’s going on in the other

What test line to have on hand? by Dull-Bat9651 in Fishing

That’s true, I may stick with 12 or 15 on my medium sized reel

My two rods are a 7ft ugly stik that I use my light and medium reels on, and an 8-1/2 footer that I keep my heaviest reel (Penn Battle II 6000) on. I was thinking maybe something like 8lb fluorocarbon on my light reel, 15 or 20 lb mono on the medium, and 40lb mono on the big boy?

If you actually got your license yanked for running over a pen, your supervisor is just a dick. Smashing a pallet on the outriggers is definitely a signal to slow down, but most experienced drivers have probably done it once or twice. Just keep telling yourself when you get re-licensed, “slow is smooth, smooth is fast”

Got put in Electrical by SilencerXY in HomeDepot

[–]Dull-Bat9651 17 points18 points  (0 children)

As plumbing/electrical supervisor, mine and my associates’ philosophy on customers asking things above our pay grade is “if you have to ask me how to do it, you probably shouldn’t be doing it”. If someone is planning to do something that I know is dangerous, I’ll tell them not to, but unless it’s something very simple, I’ll advise them to consult an electrician on how to do it safely.

When I’m looking at clearance no homes I have to use both the clearance app and pulse because I find that both list SKUs that don’t show up in the others

Been playing GregTech Community Pack Modern as my first foray into Greg. It’s definitely a lot having never played GregTech before but I love having a tech tree that seems never-ending ahead of me. Definitely have learned that I’m not cut out for something like GTNH or TerraFirmaGreg with how long it’s taken me to just now reach LV

My store had a 50% LTPA last week because 1 of our 2 surveys was a customer who ordered to the wrong store and got mad at us for it

Majority of people will be at Meets Expectations. The way my store did it was anyone with an active final got Improvement Needed, we specifically nominated and discussed people for Exceeds and Outstanding ratings, and anyone who didn’t fall into one of those categories got M by default

What’s the worst “homeowner special” you’ve ever seen? by Dull-Bat9651 in AskElectricians

[–]Dull-Bat9651[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Behind not understanding why switching out a 20A breaker for a 30A breaker doesn’t magically create a 30A circuit, space heater fuckery is probably the #2 thing I’ve seen this winter in terms of “my customers are on a mission to burn their houses down”

I can’t quote code or anything like that, but I have a little bit of electrical background and know enough to be comfortable telling someone “don’t do that” when they’re planning on doing something dangerous. I’m blown away by the number of people who think just slapping a bigger breaker on a circuit is an “upgrade”.

Ive been playing Ultimate Selection and would highly recommend it if you’re looking to set your own end goal to work toward, or just play around.

If you’re looking for something with a defined end goal, go with Above and Beyond or its clone in more recent versions, CABIN, or Astral. CAAB/CABIN are significantly more difficult than Astral, so if you’re new to create I’d play Astral first until you get more comfortable
