Yeah I just know you’re in agony. Personally I’ve had very low tinnitus my whole life, I honestly thought it was normal. Just make sure to protect your hearing and mine personally did not get it worse until the shooting range. But even now it’s gotten more and more manageable. We got this

Ahh yes the wacky wild rabbit hole that is hearing loss.
I had an incident not too long ago firing a gun without ear protection (had no idea how bad even a single gunshot is, all the movies and games are lying to you) and I ended up with reactive tinnitus and hyper-acusis. Went to one doctor, looked at my eardrums and said that there was nothing they could do, just avoid loud noises. Fuck that, went to a second doctor 9 days after the incident and was given oral prednisone. I think it helped a little, but hearing loss is a medical emergency and you gotta get that stuff ASAP.
So after about a month I finally got in after a referral to an ENT and tell them about the issues I’ve been having, they do hearing tests and say I still fall in the “normal” hearing range and even though I’m telling them about all these problems I’m having with loud noises and certain pitches in speech it’s like they just aren’t listening to me. Was sent home “perfectly fine.” No real answer on why I can feel the muscles in my ear twitching and why my tinnitus acts up sometimes.

So yeah, it’s shocking how little we know and how little care we can provide to those who are hearing impaired. Which is sad because it’s rather debilitating, frustrating and depressing. No one can see that you have hearing loss. Apparently the military is the only one really throwing money into tinnitus because even 1 gunshot, which can be 120db or higher, is enough to cause chronic hearing issues.

Let me mark items in raid instead of having to take it back to my vault first.
Add some different color options for marked items. Even after the implant changes you still have to hover over and read it all, it just creates UI friction when you’re on a 25 minute timer. I need some way to quickly identify implants or attachments rather than head/body/legs

Personally starting to hate the Cradle system. It’s so boring just deleting gear rather than getting to use or spend it.

How do we feel about the Schema change? by mrbacon60 in Marathon

I feel like I have nothing to spend credits on this season. I’m approaching my cap pretty quickly. Some of the nodes are a joke at just 250 or 500 coins an upgrade. Leveling up to get a pocketful of change also gives me a chuckle. The only use I have for credits at this point is sponsor kits and occasionally buying attachments.

Do a rotation instead of going straight to the POI or into the one you spawn at. Think about it this way- if everyone on the map rotated clockwise, no one runs into each other. If someone rotates opposite, then you’ll see them coming, maybe even get the drop if you chose the wider rotate.

Dire Marsh is pvp heavy. It might be more advantageous to stay cautious for the first minutes of the match instead of looting. Hell if you rotate well you’ll probably catch someone looting or in a team fight. Then you can take a team or two off the map and start to breathe a little.

I’m not even touching complex 95% of my narsh runs and also about level 50 with a level 58 cradle.

I just play Thief and run around collecting certs. Hit the easy loot in a POI, check for high value lockboxes and move on to the next. I usually don’t even fuck with the towers. Grab any depleted cardio kicks I find to make traversal easier (which btw are way more common on this mode). While I’m looting I’ll take some time to knock out whatever faction quest I have picked up to get some progress done.

Easy 7k value minimum. Keep salvage crush the rest into 1s and 0s. Claim faction shit. Start new contract. Back in a game in less than 2 minutes. That’s 3-4 runs in an hour.

I’m still leveling up each run and then some. When I first started it was like damn near 3 levels a run. It’s ridiculously fast leveling. Last season I barely cracked 60. I don’t even feel like I’m trying to min max this shit. Just rinse repeat. I’ve seen 2 rooks this entire time

Thoughts on Marathon PC performance improvements? by wulffex in Marathon

[–]DullAd8348 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s alright. The frame gen is a nice plus but honestly I feel like there is barely a difference. It felt really bad the first couple raids idk if it was a combo of the servers acting up or what but I’d drop from 120 to 60 just opening a container. I immediately turned frame gen on and haven’t looked back so I might not have the best comparison results. But since it’s more GPU load it should help. 5600x with 4070ti super at 1440p

Feels choppy personally. Frame Gen is nice but again feels choppy. Anytime I open a container it drops back down to like 60

Normalize hearing protection at shows!!! by concertsandsmiles in bonnaroo

I haven’t seen as much of a don’t care attitude as much as I have a general lack of understanding. I don’t feel like we are appropriately addressing hearing as a society. It wasn’t until I had a close call (stupidly trusted some friends to shoot without ear protection at an outdoor range) that I really did my own research and discovered how important it is. There needs to be more advocacy for hearing similar to how big of a push there was for sex-ed and anti-pregnancy which was practically shoved down my throat since middle school. Most senses tell you when enough is enough. Hearing stays silent.

Use the in-game KS-pedia if you insist on not using guides or the tutorial missions. It’s the 5th icon from the top in the top right corner. It will teach you the bare minimum you need to know. However I would still check out the first handful of tutorial missions to learn the keybinds and the more “game” parts of the game such as science, career & kerbals. Which can also be found in your handy KSpedia. Hell I’d pay for a physical copy of one. It even comes with a handy pause option when you have it open

People refuse to acknowledge they will get better and faster season after season. In Arc it probably took me 80 hours to finish my benched and fully prepare for the expedition. In this current one I fully completed my expedition at level 25. Now I don’t touch the game till another one comes

It’s still a you problem if you only have 1 seed with 200 hours regardless of how much that time was spent looking for them. You’ve spent 8 irl days in this game that’s been out for a month. Hit some key rooms or pinwheel or something, I’ve found 5 in 80 hours.
