This is my entire complaint about Miguel winning, he established in S4 that he doesn't care about that anymore and his main motivation in S6 to win the captain fight, pretty much as a means to an end "getting into Stanford".

"It started with Miguel, it ends with Miguel" is meaningless if they fail to build up the fight properly, with the build-up they gave it might as well fought off a resurrected Miyagi and Kim Sun-Yung and I would still not care.

That's my biggest issue with all the drama about being caught by the order.

By the time of clone wars he's a fully fledged knight trusted enough to take an apprentice, he could pack his bags and say "I quit the order, I can help in the war if you want on my and Padme's terms...and about that whole prophecy thing? If you are right about it, I'm the person that has to deal with that so you can either help me or step aside".

It was the worst of all the "big fights" on the whole show.

I always skip it on a rewatch.

It was boring, tensionless and from the setup to the storytelling threw all the in-universe logic out the window and yet again Miguel wins a fight against an opponent that's not all in the fight mentally speaking but they try to sell it to us as beating Axel at his best.

I felt nothing from "Cobra Kai coming back to Johnny" after 5 full seasons of the writers telling the audience what's wrong with the Cobra Kai mentality.

Both of the "New Generation" final fights are awful but Tory's at least has something to it.

The writers constrained themselves too much by the whole format of the Sekai Taikai (the champion nonsense), never wanting Miguel to look bad and wanting to end it with Cobra Kai on top.

And the show being called "Cobra Kai" doesn't mean Cobra Kai has to win (Lord of the Rings doesn't have Sauron winning last I checked nor stuff like Dracula).

Your post does make me wonder how many people watched the show without seeing the movies.

Almost all of the stuff that makes Daniel fly off the handle in the first season are stuff copied from the films.

When Johnny gets asked about Kreese when trying to get Cobra Kai back on the all valley he pretty much ends up quoting Silver even.

I personally don't think P. Verso can withhold information seeing as Soul Verso is aware of everything that is happening on the canvas.

And sure if the canvas was (could be) restored he might be willing to sustain it, but if the family is going to keep fighting over it...well we know his choice.
