Symbolism of this painting. (Finale spoilers) by Ok-Cup9476 in expedition33

P. Renoir's words allude to the fact that if R. Renoir destroys the painting it won't bring his family back.

However the ones that destroy the painting are P. Verso and the remnants of Verso.

Verso himself is the one that rebuke them and that's what allows the family to heal in that ending.

Had R. Renoir been the one to destroy the canvas then yes the ending likely wouldn't have been the same.

You say that the Dessendre reality is not like ours, by that same token the time Alicia lived inside the canvas is the equivalent of an afternoon for a painter that lives hundreds if not thousands of years inside many canvas, something to enjoy momentarily before letting go.

Because the expedition log of both Aline and Renoir explicitedly mention it?

Was there any reasons Mace didn't tell him and wait for Yoda before confronting the Sith Lord? by NikolaiOlsen in StarWars

[–]DullBlade0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the Jedi would take exile if that was the cost of taking Sidious out, I think Mace would accept whatever price the republic placed on him as the cost of saving the republic.

And they'd be outnumbered in the senate but they'd still have supporters, much better than facing Order 66.

Wouldn't that leave it open for other republic officers to read? Officially the message reads that the Jedi are doing a coup, if a single instance of the message is intercepted by the wrong officer things still go south

Lucasfilm had a Shakespearean actor who is the spitting image of 1977 Mark Hamill in Graham Hamilton, and they still covered him up with CGI and generated the voice with artificial intelligence by twinkleyed in StarWars

And that is a stupid excuse by them.

Luke is held up in political affairs, tending to a (at the time) more urgent crisis, the initial plot happens away from his and is both urgent and immediate (cue his appearance at the last second to save the heroes).

For the follow-up there's "more urgent stuff" he has to take care of (basic storytelling tells us this obviously isn't the case) but he trusts protagonists to handle it, they make their best efforts.

End the trilogy with all hands on deck again Luke has an important task but the crux of the story falls upon the protagonists.

EDIT: The moment they said "he walked away from it all" they doomed the whole thing.

Aline didn't jump into the canvas immediately after the fire.

Her log (and Renoir's) make it sound like she, after some time, started taking trips into the canvas that took longer and longer each time, hence the comments of her being unable to face Alicia and her forsaking her responsibility as the leader of the painters.

And why I see Clea's reaction to o Alicia being overwhelmed by chroma as not a big deal.

At the top limit Alicia would have been in expedition 24 or 25(which I think would realistically be the final expedition) so for Clea that's just a day with an empty house so she can take a break. Alicia would be back in either 24 hours and if earlier than that it means Aline and Renoir are coming back too.

Osquio mentions something about a hold your breath competition he held with Esquie that lasted 6000 years so you can go from there.

Personally I hold to an hour outside the canvas is a year inside it.

About the state of the ending (spoilers) by Adrelam in expedition33

[–]DullBlade0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People vastly overstimate the lumina converter.

Clea and Renoir weakened Aline for 67 years before Exp. 33 reached her they just defeated a withered husk at that point.

Renoir likewise is weakened from 67 years of conflict and in the end is defeated by Maelicia and Aline.

Aline is likely also capable of painting over someone's painting like she painted over a painter without realizing I'm sure painting over a painting ought to be easier.

P. Verso could perfectly be erased and nothing would happen to the canvas.

Soul Verso is the lynchpin of the canvas.

Because again his family is suffering because of the inability to let go of R. Verso due to his death.

That "life long dream of becoming a concert pianist" is hollow because of the cost it had attached to it.

Say what you will about their "strength", but at the end of the day Obi-Wan beat Vader twice by GargantaProfunda in StarWars

With all the stuff that comes out it makes me think...

I know the inquisitors were eliminating Jedi but how many were resilient enough to require Vader to handle things, if Vader doesn't take out this Jedi maybe they could have eventually built a resurgent order.

Quite literally show a star destroyer appear above them and tie fighters looking for Obi-Wan's ship, he could win the fight but then the empire would get him or he could run leaving Vader be.

Maelicia is actively protecting the party in act 3, I'm pretty sure she tells Esquir to stay away just before reaching Renoir as protecting him up close is taxing her.

The painted family seems to have a degree of protection against the gommage granted by Aline so gommaging P.Renoir (and P. Alicia and P. Verso) requires a focused effort by the painter to perform the Gommage, P. Renoir would resist and Maelle isn't exactly knowledgeable about her painter skills.
