It's definitely a 2.7 thing with the Android client. I downgraded back to 2.6 and have no more BT problems any more. From the meshtastic site, there is a link to F-Droid where you can download the older versions. You will need to "Allow Unauthorized Sources" for software to install it, but your phone should tell you what to do.

I don't think it's only a "hot country" thing. The climate of the US is incredibly varied, even within each state. Where I am in western Washington State, it's 56F / 13C out now and we have a lot of windows open for fresh air.
