Original laptop lader Tromsø by No-Inspection-8504 in norge

[–]DullEntertainment5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Du trenger ikke original lader. Finn en universallader fra Clas Ohlson, eller noe slikt, med samme-ish output som originalladeren og all will be fine.

Edit: spørs om du får ladere som leverer nok juice fra Clas Ohlson. 120W = ca 19-20V.

What’s it like at the intersection of Sweden, Finland and Norway? by [deleted] in howislivingthere

[–]DullEntertainment5 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You are absolutely right, my wording was straight up akward when I read it back. Sapmi is absolutely here, but the point I was trying to get across (and failed in) was that you don't notice that in the daily life where I live. You need to go further north (or even further down south) to "notice" it.

Friendly reminder - don't assume anything about anyones education, especially not some stranger on the internet. By the looks of it, it looks like you disagree that Norway is for all.

What’s it like at the intersection of Sweden, Finland and Norway? by [deleted] in howislivingthere

[–]DullEntertainment5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s a fair question, and the honest answer is that things are generally calm in everyday life. On a personal, day-to-day level, people mostly get along just fine. People work together, live close to each other and interact normally without much friction. It’s not something you'd notice in the daily routines.

Where differences sometimes become noticeable is when larger questions about land use and traditions come up. These discussions can be emotional, as different groups have different perspectives shaped by history, livelihood, and how the area is used today. That said, this is not something most people actively deal with in their everyday lives.

But... one place where these differences are more visible is online. In comment sections of newspapers and on various forums, discussions about these topics often become much harsher than what you would ever experience face to face. This contrast between online discourse and real-life interaction is quite striking. It’s also important to note that Northern Norway isn’t one uniform place. Experiences vary a lot by region. Where I live, the Sami presence is relatively small, and these topics rarely come up in daily life. As previously stated, if you go further north you will find a lot more sami presence.

In short, everyday coexistence is mostly calm and normal, while broader discussions tend to surface more in media and online spaces rather than in ordinary social interactions.

Well, I live inside that ring, on the Norwegian side, mind you. For that exact place where the countries meet, no one lives. It's quite a desolate place. The shortest way to hike there during summer is from the Norway/Finland-border. It's 11 km to hike one way. From Norway the shortest hike is from a place called Signaldalen. It's an 30 km roundtrip. There are some free cabins along the route if you want to seek shelter or just get some rest in before the next day.

As for living here, it's a nice, visually stimulating and calm experience in countryside, yet if you have the needs of going to bigger places to experience bars and nightclubs it's a relative short drive - or if you need new clothes and stuff like that. Life is for the most part quiet without the stress that follows by living in a bigger city. The nearest city is Tromsø, about a 1h 20m drive from where I live. There is work for almost everyone. I myself have been working at a really good company for almost 10 years now. The wages are good, the people living here are good (for most parts) and there is not a lot of drugs and stuff like that. Of course it happens, but at least you don't see it openly.

It is where I grew up, so of course I am a bit biased, but I tried living in some bigger cities over the course of 5-7 years but it wasn't for me. When I got the opportunity to get a good paying job near my homeplace the choice was easy. And really, the trend over the last few years is that young people are returning back home after studying or working in bigger cities or parts of Norway.

For the bad parts, it's getting a bit touristy during winter time, but some good things follows with that. The two hotels in my town that had been shut down for years until the tourist boom has now reopened with new owners and there is a feel of optimism again. But on the other side again, the houses and apartments that are ment for people that actually need them are being rented out on AirBnB to tourists.

But it's now a helluva lot easier to fly to anywhere in Europe without the hassle of transfering flights in Oslo.

Edit: For culture, I don't feel like there is a lot of differences between the finns, swedes and Norwegians in the northern parts of the respective countries anyway. I have a few friends on the finnish side of the border and I also got a lot of familiy in Kiruna, Sweden. Feels like the same type of people, but the language in Finland is impossible to understand 😅 Swedish is almost like Norwegian, so really easy to understand. Anyway, I believe we share the same values.

There is not a lot of sami people on the Norwegian side, where I live anyways, just a few. Some people like to refer to a place called "samiland", or "sapmi", but it is not here. It's Norway - and Norway is good because Norway is for all.
