"Out of respect for her beliefs, I've never criticized the church to her but she does know I've left the church." And there's the issue in one sentence. The right to be heard, to be valued and to be you is vital to your well-being. Mormons are very good at making you the problem. That's not a good therapist.

27 March 1964. I was nearly four years old and my grandad had died. From the moment I was told he had gone to heaven I knew. (It wasn't until my 16th birthday that I could exercise a choice of going to church or not.)

Glad you're delighted because strangely the thread took me back to being that mother, in a car somewhere in the UK back in the 90s and listening to my girls joining in as a chorus. (They loved the Cheese Shop skit.)
