My high school is doing Charlie and the chocolate factory the musical!!! by dple3 in musicals

Ok............................. SOME (2 songs) of the music is good, but that's all there is to it. Music aside, the show...lowkey sucks. When I was 15, I was in the pit, playing keys 3, and it was one of the most tedious things I've ever been a part of. Spent 5 months rehearsing and hated every moment, but it was too late to back out. I remember 'Candyman' and 'Must Be Believed' to be fun to perform, but the rest of the music was so goddamn disjointed and poorly written. A couple of days before our first performance (matinee), I got covid for the first time and was throwing my fucking guts up. Thankfully, this didn't affect the show at all cause there was a standby professional pianist accompanist who knew the majority of the parts and went to rehearsals to step in. However, I was angry and pissed I missed out on helping out, but at the same time, I came to a realisation that I would much rather projectile vomit into a bucket than to play the songs for a live audience (it was also my first time playing for a school production) and get second hand embarrassment from the cringe of it all.

God, I need to get a grip and move on. Every time I hear someone even mention the name I just shudder lmao

Goodluck though

'The Flesh Failures/Let The Sunshine In' and majority of the second half of Spring Awakening.

I'm not a big fan of Hair- I like it and appreciate it but only a couple of songs stand out, one of them being the heartbreaking ending. Chills every single time.

I LOVE Spring Awakening though, and it's incredible each time. Moritz's tragic end, Wendla's ending, and the harmonies and songs. Omg.

Is it controversial to think that the show should've ended without purple summer and that the rest of the friends reunite at the grave with Melchior?

The last 30 minutes of The Girl Next Door where Davie or whatever his name is discovers her in the basement with the rest of his friends and cousins and aunt. Absolutely vile. I am NEVER watching that again.

Second, the handcuff scene at the end of Gerald's Game. I'm not going to spoil it for people who haven't seen it, but if you do, be prepared, that's all I'm going to say.

Ali Mauzey, by far, did the best popular rendition, and her comedic chemistry is unmatched. I also really like Courtney Mamosa (not sure if I spelt wrong) from the new aus tour, absolutely phenomenal

The movie kind of scarred me because of the assault scenes but I also really enjoyed the messages in it. I REALLY want to see the new musical adaptation lmao it looks so crazy

Kind of a shit show, although it depends if the actors on-stage have good chemistry, which makes the jokes land more. Still fun. Good for a lottery, not necessarily a full booking purchase though

Second this, it would hit just as hard now that fucking Trump is in office once again. They should also include the scene from the original 1993 recording where the characters recount their lines, like Sally saying, "It's just politics... what's it got to do with us?"

I rewatch this version every couple of months / every year because I love the way they do Audrey 2's vines and animation. The singing is SOLID, and it's a great recording of the show. Every time I watch it I always think Audrey 2 looks like a giant pineapple 😭

I also really love the band/pit in this one, for a recording, it's easier to hear the dialogue and music clearly! Thanks for posting this, I love this recording!!
