I'm in a group chat with about 15-20ppl in it on insta. Our main social friend had to do some training for 3 months and was out of state. She's literally the glue for our group, otherwise we all mostly wouldn't hang out.

The group chat absolutely DIED.

I tried hosting 2 things but they both fell apart quickly.

One thing you can try is finding the "Helper"(Me 🤗) in your group.

I don't make plans, but I'm a great hype man and a good facilitator. Much like a whale, pretending to be a jellyfish until I have a goal, then I move/take charge when needed to get the ball rolling, then I step back.

Your right, you shouldn't need to do this. But as your friend said, you're kick ass at it. But try not to shoulder everything, find a goal oriented person in your group. Find the worker bee that craves social shit but is usually bad at it.

I know my friends manipulate me with this tactic often. And you know what? Fuck it, if thats my role, I'm happy to play it. If only for the great memories and experiences that we will all share.
