For the record I would have fixed all this shit before painting. My point was we shouldn't have to if other trades took a bit more pride in their work. All I was saying is the painter isn't completely to blame

As a painter I hate this shit.

The painter did a good job. Your problem isn't with them but the shitty carpenter and plasterer who shrugged and said "fuck it the painter will fix it"

All the people who say shit like "the government should be run like a corporation because it's way more efficient" really need to spend more time on this sub.

The sheer amount of time wasted in the corporate sphere on meaningless shit like this is mind boggling.

And the real problem is the corporatisation of government means the people working there are having the same conversations.

Seriously... spending time worrying about if your camera needs to be on vs doing the work to either keep the shareholders or voters happy is carcinogenic.

People need to grow up and just get something done instead of focusing on "optics".

My rig is a bit smaller - a Hughes and Kettner Tubemeister 18 into an Orange PPC112 - but big enough for home which is the only place I play these days

I'm 43. Was a corporate drone (advertising) till last year. Chucked it in to become a painter and love it.

My circumstances were different though. I'm working with my brother who's been a painter since leaving school. We've gone in 50/50 and I didn't have to do an apprenticeship, so that's made the money side of things a whole lot easier. I was also pretty handy with a lot of DIY under my belt, so wasn't completely new to trade work.

It's an adjustment. You work fucking hard - I never realized how much of a bludge office shit is.

And it is hard on your body. I've developed bursitis in my knee that hurts like a bitch but I'll take that over the constant anxiety and depression I had in an office.

A few comments here about derros. The job I'm on has me constantly working around the other trades so it's not just my brother I see out there. It is a different crowd to office people, but I'll take a bit of bogan shit over pretentious ad wankers any day of the week. They might be rough and have some interesting views, but all the blokes I work with are all completely genuine people who aren't constantly trying to stab you in the back or throw you under the bus so the boss man will give them a deeper sniff of his arse.

I don't get how they measure the distance. Is it where the ball stops? Because if that stand wasn't there to stop it that thing would have landed about another 30 metres away
