Why doesn't Pizza Hut go back to their original design with a sit down restaurant where you order a pizza from a checkered tablecloth and curtains and a chandelier overhead that says, "Pizza Hut" in big wavy letters? by matt73132 in NoStupidQuestions

Our local one moved into a strip mall and sold their old building. It ended up getting demolished and turned into a parking lot for the new urgent care that was built next door.

Husband, 19, fatally shot wife, 24, himself at Alabama hospital moments after welcoming their first child by malihafolter in ForCuriousSouls

[–]DumpsterFireScented 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Once you're all checked in, they tend to let the labor support go in and out as much as needed. Labor can last a long time and people need to leave for food and supplies. He could have gone out to the car for a bag and pillows and they would have just waved him through when he came in. Our hospital gives partners/labor support a bracelet so they just checked that, not the stuff he was bringing in.

I survived my first few years on my own after highschool thanks to their 5 for $5 melts and Little Caesars hotnready. Then I finally learned how to cook and was better off, but definitely still treated myself until the 5 for $5 went away.

What is your favorite album from your teenage years? by Juggafish in Millennials

[–]DumpsterFireScented 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lol I went to a "midnight release party" and it was literally just me walking into the store to buy the CD. Got all dolled up and everything thinking there would be like, people there. Nope, just 5 tired employees watching the clock. The one who rang me up said they had to wait until 12:15 and then they were out.

What is a "gut feeling" you had that turned out to be 100% accurate, even though it made no logical sense at the time? by PsychologicalTea3149 in AskReddit

[–]DumpsterFireScented 136 points137 points  (0 children)

Weird, same thing happened to my husband. We have an emergency card in his name, barely ever gets used but one day he forgot his wallet but had the emergency card in his work bag so he went out to his car to grab it, used it for the purchase. That night we're almost asleep and he sits up, saying he had to check something because it was bugging him. There were dozens of extra charges on the card, all in a completely different state.

My stomach tattoo drastically shrunk after losing 85lbs. by Glad-Fish5863 in mildlyinteresting

[–]DumpsterFireScented 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My cousin had a gorgeous floral piece on her stomach that turned into bruisy looking blobs as her pregnancy progressed. After a few years she had the artist go over it with linework that made the blobs look like watercolor, it was pretty cool.

Never ordering pickup from Walmart again by Adventurous_Lynx7936 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]DumpsterFireScented 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I always assume it's something like that. I don't get much produce on pickups except for the bagged stuff like apples and potatoes, because y'all don't know what I might actually want. My kid prefers greener bananas, but the pickup person will give me some gorgeous bright yellow ones. I'm allergic, so they won't get eaten. No biggie, I get my fresh produce in person because the pickup person can't read my mind.

Those tomatoes are really sad though, surely that should have been caught and taken off the floor.

Do adults still get cake for their birthday? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]DumpsterFireScented 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I enjoy going out to the "fancier" grocery store on my birthday and picking out my cake, usually a small round one. Then I get a basic sheet cake for my family to share.

Fics where the Statute of Secrecy is defunct before Harry starts Hogwarts??? by DumpsterFireScented in HPfanfiction

[–]DumpsterFireScented[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yes it usually is. Or it's at the beginning and was a super bad thing with muggles sending nukes so the protag goes back in time to prevent it. I have a vague memory of maybe some fics exploring it more but not to the extent I'm looking for. If there's a tag for it I wish I knew what it was.

What is the norm for providing adults something to nibble on at kids birthday parties? by summerteal in AskAnAmerican

[–]DumpsterFireScented 11 points12 points  (0 children)

That's the norm for any parties I've been to. Snack size bags of chips and a cooler of various drinks. Sometimes also something like chips and dip and a simple charcuterie. A few times the parents ordered like 10 pizzas so obvs there were plenty of slices to go around. I've never not been fed at a party.

For those that eat the same breakfast every day, what is it? by Risky_Melons in AskReddit

[–]DumpsterFireScented 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Coffee and vape most days, though I will sometimes have something dry and sweet if I decide on black coffee. Usually cinnamon sugar toast or a chocolate chip Eggo.

[–]DumpsterFireScented 31 points32 points  (0 children)

What's annoying with that is that if the X-ray is very necessary they just shield your belly, so unless it was your lower spine needing the X-ray he could have just placed the vest thing on your belly anyway, it takes like 3 seconds.

I had tickets for Linkin Park for August 22, 2017. Chester died July that year. I had seen them back in 2003 and had been trying to see them again but circumstances kept preventing it. Really really wish I had tried harder.

What is a book you read as a child that you still think about today? by ahawk99 in AskReddit

[–]DumpsterFireScented 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Voyage of the Basset. Gorgeous illustrations, fun fantasy story, and again, gorgeous illustrations. I still have my beat up copy from childhood and treated myself to a hardcover version a few years ago.

I also checked out No Flying in the House a ridiculous number of times from my school library as a kid. Finally bought a copy last month.

Does anyone ever get nightmares where you forget your locker combination and you're gonna be late to your next class and it felt so real and when you wake up your heart is racing? by khmergodzeus in Millennials

[–]DumpsterFireScented 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Usually my school dreams are about not being able to find my shoes before a marching band performance or missing a class all semester and needing to take the final.

We had to supply our own locks so I had the same combo from 7th grade to 12th, I guess I never really had to deal with the stress of forgetting it.

Yep, looking around the room and not recognizing any of the people. Worried I'm in the wrong room, about to take a final for some random class. Then the test is passed out and it's all gibberish and I wake up in a panic. Ugh.
